The tranquil and cosy holiday home area Udby is a scenic and hilly nature area on the northern side of the peninsular Tuse Næs i Odsherred. From the area you can enjoy a view of the bays Holbæk Fjord and Lammefjorden as well as the island Orø.
Udby is an ideal holiday area if you wish to swim, angle, play golf, enjoy nature and go on excursions to some of the many sights in Odsherred. Experience e.g. the beautiful mill Kisserup Mølle, Odsherred Zoo and the amusement park Sommerland Sjælland.
You can buy groceries in the area, and a 15 minutes drive takes you to the town Holbæk, which offers marina atmosphere, shops, restaurants, galleries, wellness and sails on the bay among other things.
The peninsular Tuse Næs has more bathing beaches, and you will find the best ones near Løserup and Kisserup.
In the bay Sejrø-bugten, towards west, you will find some of the best beaches in Odsherred. You can e.g. swim in Hønsinge Lyng, which offers a lovely, sandy and child-friendly bathing beach with low dunes. In order to get to the beach, you have to cross a bridge that connects the shore with the sandbanks (26 km).
By Høve Strand the wind creates good conditions for windsurfers (30 km).
Udby and Tuse Næs are characterized by their beautiful nature with beech forest, meadows and fields as well as sea in almost all directions.
Near Udby you will find the scenic forest Hønsehals Skov and on the south-eastern part of the peninsular you can visit the large forest Bognæs Skov.
In the forest Grevinge Skov near Herrestrup you can experience more dolmens, and in the centre of the forest a cromlech with a large chamber tomb is situated (14 km).
Near Ordrup, on the east coast, you will find the headland Ordrup Næs - a partly preserved nature area with both hardwood trees and conifers. Sheep and cattle often graze here. From the tip of the headland you can experience porpoise and seals if you are in luck (30 km).
Tuse Næs is an ideal holiday area for nature lovers, anglers and golfers.
You can walk and cycle in the forest of the area, angle along the shore or from a fishing vessel at sea or play golf in Holbæk Golfklub. The golf club has a unique location – directly in from of the peninsular Kirsebærholmen.
In Holbæk you can challenge each other in Gokart-land, which offers large, beautiful outdoor facilities.
And in the climbing park Holbæk Klatrepark you can try a ropeway and to climb in the treetops – an interesting and challenging experience for the whole family.
You can also visit the lake bath Søbadet Venedig by the bay Isefjorden in Holbæk, which arranges fun summer activities for the whole family.
In the steam bath Hamam Tyrkisk Bad in Holbæk you can enjoy wellness and comfort for both body and soul.
You will find many artists on Tuse Næs and often it is possible to visit them in their galleries, studios, workshops and exhibitions.
In the church Tuse Kirke you can experience exceptional frescos from the years 1460-1480.
The beautiful white Dragsholm Slot is Denmark’s oldest castle and originates from the early Middle Ages. Here you can also experience a lovely palace garden and a gourmet restaurant (11 km).
At Museum Odsherred in Asnæs you can see paintings and visual arts by Odsherred painters and the gallery Malergården in Plejerup exhibits paints of the surrounding nature (18 km).
Odsherred Zoo is Denmark’s only zoo with rescue centre. Here the animals live in natural surroundings and you can come very close to them. See the interesting animals from South America in the tropical house as well. And peacocks, rabbits and chickens walk around everywhere in the park (18 km).
In Holbæk you can shop, dine at a restaurant, enjoy the atmosphere in the cosy marina as well as visit galleries and museums (23 km).
Visit the village Besøg Andelslandsbyen Nyvang near Holbæk. Here the past is vitalized. Follow everyday life as it was in the beginning of the 19th century. Andelslandsbyen is a special open-air museum, where you can touch the animals, see the trades being carried out, smell the freshly made food and buy them. A visit to the village is an experience for the whole family (24 km).
The lovely amusement park Sommerland Sjælland offers more than 60 fun rides for the whole family. You can sail in canoes, try the roller coaster, climb in a giant climbing frame or swim in Sealandchar(39)s largest water world here (24 km).
