Ordrup is situated in the north-western part of Sealand, right by the bay 'Sejerøbugt' and the Great Belt, with the tongue of land 'Sjællands Odde' in the background. The lovely and quiet holiday house area is surrounded by scenic nature, forest and water, which is suitable for swimming, surfing, diving, angling and sailing. You will find grocer's shops and restaurants in the area. The nearest larger town is Holbæk, which is situated 26 km towards south-east.
In the northern part of Ordrup you will find a sandy beach, which is very suitable for children. A raised beach with a table and a bench is available here. A ramp, which leads down to the water, makes it possible for wheelchair users to visit the beach as well. Windsurfers will find good conditions by Ordrup. By Hønsinge Lyng (14 km towards north) you will find one of the best beaches of the area Odsherred. The beach is a lovely, sandy bathing each with low dunes. It is also very suitable for children. To get to the beach, you will have to walk over a bridge, which connects the shore with the sand bars.
Forest, water and the isthmus 'Ordrup Næs' - a partly preserved nature area with hardwood trees and pines, scenically surround Ordrup. From the tip of the isthmus you can observe both porpoises and common seals, if you are in luck. By Høve, 7 km towards north, he scenic forest area stretches almost to the waters edge. Vesterlyngen by Havnsø is Sealand's largest moor landscape with meadows, small lakes, heather and rare vegetation. The area is a conservation area, and a lovely, public beach is available here.
You will find good angling opportunities all along the shores of western Sealand, in the Put & Take fishponds of the area as well as on the sea, onboard a fishing vessel, which sails out from f.x. Havnsø and Sjællands Odde. A minigolf course is available in Hønsinge Lyng (14 km), and the area offers more golf courses, like i.a. those of 'Odsherred Golfklub' and 'Mensalgaard Pay & Play' with 9 holes. If you wish to go horseback riding, it is possible to rent horses more places in the area. At the isthmus 'Ordrup Næs' you can follow a path all around the scenic area. Because of the good wind conditions of the headland, it is very popular to fly with kite here. The area is also of interest for divers, who can search for finds from an old stone age settlement about 50 metres offshore by 'Ordrup Næs'.
It is said that the Earl of Bothwell is buried by the church of the village Fårevejle Kirkeby, 3 km from Ordrup. From the beautiful old mill 'Høve Mølle' you can enjoy a scenic view of the bay 'Sejerø-bugten' and the tongue of land 'Sjællands Odde' (7 km). In the zoo 'Odsherreds Zoo Dyrepark' by Asnæs you can experience 600 animals, divided on 100 species (8 km). The castle 'Dragsholm Slot' by Hørve is Denmark's oldest castle. The former fortress from the early Middle Ages contains a dungeon and offers many ghost stories. A beautiful palace garden belongs to the castle (11 km). Go on a ferry trip from the small ferry berth Havnsø (14 km) across the bay 'Sejerøbugt' to the traffic-free island Nekselø, which offers a scenic and interesting landscape with a rich animal life and great views, or to the island Sejerø, which has Denmark's mildest climate, a hilly landscape, many small bathing beaches as well as more passage graves and a monolith.
The passage grave by Højby is one of the best preserved graves in the country. The passage grave has 2 chambers, is 4.5 metres high, has an external diameter of 26 metres and functioned as burial chamber for 98 people (14 km). The exhibition from the excavation can be seen on the nearby 'Stenstrup Museum' (23 km). The amusement park 'Sommerland Sjælland' by Nykøbing offers more than 60 activities for the whole family, like a cosy canoe trip, a wild ride in the roller coaster or a visit to the largest water world in Sealand (25 km). Visit the capital Copenhagen with the vivid culture life, museums, music, theatres, galleries, the pedestrian street 'Strøget' and sights like the Tivoli, a planetarium, the activity centre 'Experimentarium', the art museum 'Carlsberg Glyptotek', the castle 'Rosenborg Slot' with the crown jewels, København Zoo and much more (78 km).
