Munkeruphus is a preserved and idyllically situated country house, which is used for exhibitions.
The old Cistercian convent Esrum Kloster from the year 1151 has a beautiful convent garden and a small convent pharmacy. The convent is scenically situated by the lake Esrum Sø.
In North Sealand you will find more interesting castles. With its towers and spires the castle 'Frederiksborg Slot' looks like something out of a fairy-tale. The castle 'Fredensborg Slot' is the summer residence of the Queen Margrethe.
The marked town Helsingør by the 'gate' of the sound 'Øresund' contains a cosy, old quarter and the beautiful castle 'Kronborg Slot', which is one of Northern Europe's most significant Renaissance castles (28 km).
Experience the capital Copenhagen with the vivid culture life, museums, music, theatres, galleries, the pedestrian street 'Strøget' and sights like the Tivoli, a planetarium, the adventure centre 'Eksperimentarium', the art museum 'Carlsberg Glyptotek', the castle 'Rosenborg Slot' with the crown jewels, København Zoo and much more (75 km).
