Bakkebølle is situated on the southern tip of South Sealand, by the waters 'Storstrømmen' and just north of the three islands Lolland, Falster and Møn. Enjoy the short distances from Bakkebølle to the numerous sights, nature areas and historic towns, like i.a. Vordingborg, 11 km from Bakkebølle, where you can sense a touch of Southern European glow. The cosy holiday area of Bakkebølle is situated only 1 km from the beach and it is possible to buy groceries within a radius of 2 km. Let yourselves get inspired by the many temptations and experience Sealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn.
The beach of Bakkebølle is situated in a scenic nature area, about 1 km from the holiday house area. Here you are close to the bridge 'Farø-broen', which connects Sealand with the small island Farø.
The beach 'Ore Strand', about 16 km from Bakkebølle, is also recommendable. Here you will find large, recreational grass areas as well as bathing jetties.
Follow the walking path 'Bakkebøllestien' - the old-line section between the towns Vordingborg and Kalvehave - and walk in the fertile nature, past fields, through forests with a rich bird life and enjoy the view of the waters 'Storstrømmen'.
The nature area 'Kulsbjerge' is composed of 3 mounds. From the highest point in the area (107 metres above sea level) you can enjoy the great view of South Sealand (3 km).
On the bar 'Knudshoved Odde' (24 km) you will find the forest ¿Knudsskov¿, which is surrounded by water both towards south and north. Practically all kinds of wood, ferns tall enough to hide a man, brambles and scented flowers grow in the lovely nature landscape. The bar is only accessible on foot or bicycle.
The cliff 'Møns Klint' is a spectacular corner of Denmark. The impressive white chalk cliffs rise from the sea and are an amazing sight (36 km).
At the tourist office in Vordingborg (11 km) you can rent bicycles and experience the lovely nature at close range. Hiking maps are also available here.
Anglers will find good opportunities all along the shores by Bakkebølle and in the Put & Take fishponds of the area.
Golf players can try out the nearby courses of 'Møn Golfklub' in Stege (21 km), 'Falster Golf Klub' by Eskilstrup (26 km) as well as 'Sydsjællands Golfklub' and 'Næstved Ny Golfklub' (both 41 km).
Experience Vordingborg (11 km) and sense the exotic atmosphere at the marina, which is situated only a few hundred metres from the town centre. The landmark of the town is the tower 'Gåsetårnet', which belong among Denmark's largest mediaeval castle ruins. Visit some of the interesting museums of the town, which contains collections from the antiquity and up till today. The botanical garden 'Historisk Botanisk Have' was established after World War 1, and here you can enjoy the peace and the scent of the flowers and plants while you are inspired by the historic atmosphere of the park.
'Krokodille Zoo' in Eskilstrup on Falster has Europe¿s largest collection of different crocodile species. Furthermore, you can experience tortoises, monitors and an anaconda here (26 km).
The palace garden 'Gisselfeld Slotspark' appears as an English garden and is one of Northern Europe's most beautiful gardens (42 km).
The castle 'Gavnø Slot' on the island Gavnø (43 km) has one of Denmark's most scenic flower parks. A butterfly section is also available here.
The lovely island Enø (47 km) is connected with the cosy fishing and tourist town Karrebæksminde through a bridge. Here you will find a cosy atmosphere, an evocative marina, a minigolf course, good shopping possibilities as well as restaurants and cafés.
Bonbonland in Holme-Olstrup offers more than 70 activities for the whole family, i.a. 'Vildsvinet' - Denmark's largest roller coaster, a rafting course, carousels, circus, children's theatre, a pirate lake and much more (45 km).
In 'Knuthenborg Safaripark' by Maribo the wild animals move around in their natural surroundings - right around your car or bus. Observe giraffes, rhinos, ostriches, antelopes, zebras and Siberian tigers at close range (58 km).
Reserve some time to experience the capital with the royal flair - Copenhagen (105 km).
