The beautiful area Tranum Strand is located in the southern part of the bay Jammerbugten - between Rødhus and Slettestrand.
The village Tranum is situated a couple of km behind the shore, and here you can buy groceries. 10 km behind the shore Brovst offers good shopping opportunities and a couple of restaurants. In Slettestrand, 3 km from Tranum, the inshore fishermen still draw their boats up on the beach every day after use.
Throughout the years the unspoiled and varying nature of the area has attracted many artists and craftsmen. You can visit some of them in their galleries, candle factories and potteries.
Tranum Strand an attractive holiday resort because of the fresh sea air, the roaring of the sea, the moor areas and the lovely holiday homes. Here you are staying in the middle of nature, but still you are close to f.x. towns, golf courses and sights for the whole family.
The beach of Tranum Strand is a lovely, wide and sandy beach with a few stones. Dunes with lyme grass shelter the beach, which is awarded with the Blue Flag. In the dunes you can find a quiet hollow without problems.
Besides the good opportunities for swimming and other leisure activities, you will also find good surfing conditions by Tranum Strand.

The beach is serene and pleasant, and the locals enjoy relaxing here as well.

The preserved dune plantation Tranum Klitplantage is a scenic, unspoiled and hilly forest area with moor, walking paths and a rich animal life. The surrounding nature is equally exceptional, as it varies between fertile fields, high cliffs, dune landscapes, moor and the versatile North Sea, which changes character according to the weather.
Fosdalen and Langdalen are two large, undulating and very scenic valleys with streams in the bottom as well as unique flora and fauna. The valleys debouch into Lien - the country's largest inland hillside, which is 66 m high (4 km).
The dune plantation Svinkløv Plantage contains many good walking paths, and it is not impossible to come across roe deer in the plantation. You can follow an old German concrete road, which leads through the forest and out to the spot Sømærket. Here you stand high above the sea and are able to enjoy a magnificent view of the North Sea and the area. The stream Slette Å flows right through the plantation (7 km).
A walk along the sea or in the dune and moor landscapes of the hinterland is recommendable.
The beach invites swimming, sunbathing as well as beach and watersport activities.
The winds of the sea create good conditions for windsurfing here.
In the village Tranum the children can make use of a lovely nature playground.
Golf players can test the courses of Jammerbugtens Golfklub near Fjerritslev, where the 18-hole course is naturally laid out (14 km) or Blokhus Klit Golfklub with both an 18-hole and a 9-hole course (17 km).
Anglers can fish directly from the shore or try out one of the Put & Take fishponds of the area, like f.x. Gøttrup Fiskepark and Blokhus Fiskepark (both 19 km).
If the bathing weather fails you, you can visit the subtropical aquapark Øland Badeland. Here you will find activities for the whole family, like f.x. water slide, jacuzzi, children¿s pool, sauna and solariums (19 km).
This area is rich in artist craftsmen, and pottery, stoneware, paintings, raku and glass art among other things are exhibited in the workshops and galleries of the artists. Visit f.x. Tranum Lys og Glas (5 km), Ejstrup Lys, where you can dip your own candles from time to time during the summer (5 km), as well as Rakugalleriet in Telling, where the pottery is glazed and burned according to old Japanese customs (8 km). The distinctive and beautifully restored seaside hotel Svinkløv Badehotel is very scenically situated on the beach of Svinkløv (6 km).
Kokkedal Slot near Brovst is an impressive castle with three wings in 2 stories with a very interesting history (10 km).
The accordion museum Harmonikamuseet near Brovst contains app. 1,000 different and still functioning accordions, which are up to 150 years old (13 km).
The brewery museum 'Fjerritslev Bryggeri- og Egnsmuseum' is Northern Europe¿s best-preserved rural brewery. The brewery appears like in the old days with 100-years old coppers, fermenting tubs and beer barrels. The brewer farm Bryggergården, which has been converted to a museum, also contains a malt house and a bottling hall (14 km). In Fjerritslev you can also visit Han Herred Naturcenter and learn more about the nature and animal life of the area.
The cosy and popular holiday resort Blokhus offers shops, restaurants, pubs, ice-cream stalls, a bowling centre, entertainment and atmosphere (20 km).
The fortification Aggersborg near Aggersund contains traces of 48 long houses. By the stronghold you can see an exhibition about the construction of the castle (20 km).
In the amusement park Fårup Sommerland & Aquapark you can try out more than 50 interesting entertainments for the whole family, including Denmark's largest aquapark and Denmark's longest switchback Falken (42 km).
