Your holiday area is perfect for walking, fishing, swimming, bird watching, and relaxing. Svinkløv is also known for the beautiful country of Svinkløv Klitplantage and the fashionable and well-preserved Svinkløv Badehotel from 1925. The hotel is uniquely located in the isolated protected sand dune area, and is one of Denmark's largest preserved wooden buildings.
Your holiday home is located immediately beside this idyll between lovely areas of countryside - not far from the delightful sandy beaches of the North Sea.
Shopping possibilities are only 1 km away and if you really get the urge to shop, visit museums, or stroll down Jomfru Ane Gade, then you ought to visit the lively medieval town of Ålborg (52km).
A path leads from Svinkløv Badehotel to Svinkløv Strand - a beach that has been awarded the Blue Flag. There is parking by the hotel, and toilets. Grønne Strand - where cars are not allowed - is a broad, white sandy beach with few stones. On the gravel road to the beach are several tractors that have boat trailers fitted to them so that anglers can collect their fishing nets from the water.
Svinkløv Plantage is a 700 ha. country park open to the public. Follow marked hiking trails through a plantation that changes from dune heath land, to fragrant fir trees, to fertile wooded gorges such as Faldet and Kaprifoliedalen. Fosdalen, a lovely large vale, has a waterfall. Fosdalen cuts through to Lien which is an approximately 7km long inland cliff with an elevation of up to 66m. Lien stretches from Tranum to Grønne Strand (11km).
Bulbjerg is Denmark's only bird cliff, where gulls breed and are often seen floating in the wind over the cliff edge. Enjoy the lovely view at Bulbjerg (26km).
Vejlerne is a 6,000 ha country park located between Lønnerup Fjord to the west, Lund Fjord to the north, Bygholm Vejle in the east, and Liim Fiord to the south. This protected bird paradise has a large variety of natural sights - cows grazing in meadows, tidal meadows, masses of reeds, brackish water, marshes, fjords - all which attract ducks, geese, water birds, and birds of prey (33km).
The area has much to offer walking enthusiasts. The marked hiking trails lead you safely through the lovely countryside. In the area around Svinkløv you can use a 22 km long and very scenic mountain bike route, which is located in some of Denmark’s best mtb terrain. You have the opportunity to go sea fishing, or fish in the Put & Take lakes nearby such as Gøttrup Fiskepark. If you want to fish in deeper water, then you can sail on a fishing cutter from Hantsholm (55km) to 'Det Gule Rev' which is a two-hour sail from the coast.
Golf players can try Øland Golfklub (20km), or Jammerbugtens Golfklub at Fjerritslev where the course has been created as a natural course in hilly terrain. The course has 18 holes and is situated in a scenic area with good opportunities for experiencing the countryside.
In a closed-down, restored country property close to your holiday home is Galleri K. Here you can see modern paintings and sculptures, international glass artwork, and jewellery.
Sugar-free sweets are made at Han Herred Bolchekogeri & Lysstøberi. Naturally there are samples to taste of the still-warm delights.
Fjerritslev Bryggeri- & Egnsmuseum is located in the centre of Fjerritslev and is one of northern Europe's best preserved country breweries. The brewery is intact and has brewing kettles that are over 100 years old, fermenting vats and oil barrels - these are exactly as if they have just been left by the brewery workers. Today the brewery is a country museum where you can also see a malt house and a bottling room. From 1897 to 1968 thousands of litres of beer was brewed here, and Bavarian beer was bottled for Carlsberg (9km).
In Fjerritslev you also have the possibility to visit Han Herred Naturcenter and discover more about the plant and animal life of the area.
Aggersborg castle by Aggersund north of Liim Fiord is Denmark's largest Viking castle. The castle has an inner diameter of 240 metres and ramparts 750 metres long.
In Røgegård Naturreservat you can experience woods, heath and lakes, and get close to the animals.
The nature reservation has a large number of deer, muflon and wild boar, which roam free in the vast area. Here you can also visit a hunting museum which has the largest collection of hunting weapons in the country (20km).
The Bunkermuseet at Bulbjerg is part of a fortification from the Second World War. There is a small exhibition here with information about the Occupation, and also about the surrounding geology and birdlife (26km).
The amusement park Fårup Sommerland offers more than 50 exciting activities for the whole family, and also has a large aquapark and the fast wooden rollercoaster Falken (52km).
