Kollerup is located between the commercial town Fjerritslev and the North Sea, innermost in the bay Jammerbugten, and in the middle of an untouched and preserved nature landscape with inland dunes, heather and pine trees. Kollerup invites you to enjoy nature, walk, swim, engage yourselves in leisure activities or merely relax. A few km from Kollerup you will find Fjerritslev, which offers good shopping opportunities, more restaurants, activities and sights. Within a radius of a short drive you will find golf courses, amusement parks and sights for the whole family.

The traffic-free beach of Kollerup is a wide and sandy beach with a few stones. A part of the beach between Kollerup and the neighbouring beach Grønne Strand has been laid out as a naturist beach. On the beach you can observe the leisure-time fishermen, who tend their nets from the open beach. Don't miss the unique sunset over the North Sea from the beach or the dunes.


The conservation area Kollerup Plantage behind the beach of Kollerup is very special and characterized by forest, moor and lakes - right behind the dunes. Kollerup is located close to Svinkløv, which is famous for its beautiful and well-preserved seaside hotel as well as the plantation Svinkløv Plantage. Here you will find the stream Slette Å as well as many viewpoints. You can follow an old German concrete road, which leads through the forest and out to the spot Sømærket with German fortress remains. Here you stand high above the sea and are able to enjoy a magnificent view of the North Sea and the moor areas of Grønne Strand. Fosdalen is a large, undulating and very scenic valley with 80-metres high hills, a unique flora and fauna, a spring with fresh water and a stream in the bottom. The valley leads into Lien - the country¿s largest inland hillside, which is 66 m high and stretches from Tranum to Grønne Strand (14 km).


There are good opportunities for hiking and riding along the beach and in the varying nature behind the shore. A number of good marked walking paths are available in the area between Kollerup and Svinkløv/Slette Strand, and along these you will experience areas of outstanding natural beauty. You can fish directly from the beach or in one of the Put & Take fishponds of the area. If you with to fish in deeper water, you can go fishing on the reef Det Gule Rev (2 hours from Hanstholm) onboard a fishing vessel (52 km). Golfers can test the courses of Jammerbugtens Golfklub near Fjerritslev, where the 18-hole course has been naturally landscaped (4 km), Blokhus Klit Golfklub with both an 18-hole and a 9-hole course (31 km) or Nordvestjysk Golfklub near Klitmøller, which offers one of the most challenging and scenically situated courses in the country (62 km).

Worth a visit

In Grønne Strand you can experience Lyngmøllen from the year 1876 - Denmark's only preserved windmill, which is covered with heather on all sides (2 km). Nearby you can visit the beautiful and restored seaside hotel Svinkløv Badehotel. The area is rich in artist craftsmen, and pottery, stoneware, paintings, raku and glass art among other things are exhibited in the workshops and galleries of the artists. The brewery museum 'Fjerritslev Bryggeri- og Egnsmuseum' is Northern Europe's best-preserved rural brewery. The brewery appears like in the old days with 100-years old coppers, fermenting tubs and beer barrels. The brewer farm Bryggergården, which has been converted to a museum, also contains a malt house and a bottling hall (4 km). In Fjerritslev you can also visit Han Herred Naturcenter and learn more about the nature and animal life of the area.

Excursion spots

The fortification Aggersborg near Aggersund contains traces of 48 long houses. By the stronghold you can see an exhibition about the construction of the castle (17 km). Kokkedal Slot near Brovst is an impressive castle with three wings in 2 stories with a very interesting history (22 km). The 47 m high calcareous rock Bulbjerg is inhabited by sea birds, and from the cliff you can enjoy a magnificent vies of the bay Jammerbugten. Visit the small exhibition in the bunker on the top of the cliff - Denmark's only bird cliff (24 km). In the amusement park Fårup Sommerland & Aquapark you can try out more than 50 interesting entertainments for the whole family, including Denmark's largest aquapark and Denmark's longest switchback Falken (51 km). Visit Museumscenter Hanstholm - Northern Europe's largest fortress with a bunker. On the museum area you can experience exhibitions, canons, uniforms, weapons etc. (52 km).
