The peaceful and idyllic town Voerså is situated by the shore of the Kattegat, about 15 km south of Sæby.

Voerså lies between Frederikshavn and the mouth of the Liim Fiord on the east coast of Jutland. The area, surrounding Voerså, is famous for its unspoiled nature and its good sandy beaches, which are very suitable for children. Voerså has its own cosy fishing harbour and marina as well as a more than 300 years old inn, where you can rent rowboats and water cycles and sail up the stream and experience the genuine Danish nature. In Lyngså, a few km north of Voerså, it is possible to buy groceries.
Along the dam by the harbour of Voerså you can swim from a small sandy and south facing beach with shallow and child-friendly water. On the stones at the end of the dam, you can sometimes see seals, if you are in luck.
A couple of km towards the north, by the beach of Lyngså, you will find one of the best bathing beaches of the east coast. The 10 km long, white and very child-freindly sandy beach has shallow water and a lovely sandy bottom. The beach of Lyngså is also very suitable for windsurfing.
Voerså and the surrounding nature are peaceful and idyllic.
By the lake 'Dybvad Sø' you can fish, follow a path around the lake or relax on the one of the large lawns under the old beech trees.
Between Albæk, a few km inland, and Voerså lays the fascinating hilly moraine country 'Holtbjerg'. Here you can enjoy the lovely view of the sea and the small villages of the area. Don't miss the seven bronze age mounds of 'Holtbjerg'.
The plantations 'Professorens Plantage', a few km towards north, are moor areas with dunes, pines, heather, mulberry bushes and a rich bird life.
The landscape along the stretch of coast between Stensnæs and Voerså is a bird sanctuary, which consists of salt meadows, reed swamps and cultivated areas.
You can rent bicycles, water cycles and boats in the area and experience nature in a fun and different way.
Anglers have good possibilities for a haul here, as you can fish directly from the coast, in the lake 'Dybvad Søpark' and in the stream 'Voer Å'.
2 lovely golf courses are situated near Voerså; 'Hals Golfklub' and 'Sæby Golfklub'.
Experience the charming marked town Sæby, which is situated about 15 km north of Voerså. Here you will find well-preserved houses, pedestrian streets, cobbled streets, the watermill by the lake 'Sæby Å', a cosy harbour environment with a marina, a lovely beach, which is very suitable for children, as well as a long path along the beach. Furthermore the town has a glass factory, good shopping possibilities and more restaurants.
The castle 'Voergård Slot' by Flauenskjold, west of Voerså, is one of Denmark's most beautiful Renaissance buildings and is with its park, moats, French art treasures and fine collections of furniture and interior definitely worth a visit.
Frederikshavn is a good commercial town, from where you can go on a daytrip to the lake Læsø or Sweden. A drive to the top of the hills behind Sæby and Frederikshavn provides you with a lovely view over the water, the harbour, the town and the landscape (32 km).
Aalborg is the 'capital' of northern Jutland. Here you will find art, culture, Denmark's oldest convent, pedestrian streets, the charming old town centre, the amusement street 'Jomfru Ane Gade' and various restaurants (45 km).
The zoo in Aalborg is a child-freindly animal kingdom in beautiful surroundings.
In the amusement park 'Fårup Sommerland & Aquapark' by the holiday town Blokhus you can try out more than 50 exciting activities for the whole family. When the entry has been paid for, all activities are available for free (73 km).
