Nordlunde is a small village, which consists of a few houses and farms as well as a small tower-less church from the 12th century. The village is located app. 8 km behind Nakskov in rural surroundings. Here you will find peace and quiet, but at the same time you are just a short drive away from a golf course, sights, beaches and bigger towns. You will find good shopping opportunities in Horslunde (5 km), and in Nakskov (8 km) you will also find good restaurants and interesting sights.
There is no beach directly by Nordlunde, but several bathing beaches are available in the area. The lovely and sandy beach Ravnsholt Strand (10 km towards north) is very suitable for children, as the clear and calm water is shallow. The small dunes of the beach are covered with lyme grass. Here you are able to swim in extremely scenic surroundings. You can also swim by the beach Kragenæs Strand, from which the ferries sail out to the islands Fejø and Femø. Here you will find a good bathing beach as well as a bathing jetty (11 km towards north-east). The beach Onsevig Strand (14 km towards north-west) equally offers a lovely bathing beach, where you can swim, sunbathe and engage yourselves in beach activities.
Nordlunde is located in a green, recreational area with fertile fields, meadows and soil with growing vegetation. A number of small and cosy woods are located in the vicinity, and in Nybølle you can visit the forest Nybølle Lunder, which contains around 40 grave mounds (7 km). Off the shore towards north the waters Smålandsfarvandet - a European bird conservation area (Ramsar area) - is located. Besides birds you can experience porpoises here (10 km).
Golfers can test the nearby 18-hole golf course of the golf club Vestlollands Golfklub in Halsted (4 km). Anglers can fish in f.ex. the fishpond Lyngmose Put & Take near Birket (10 km), by the shore or on the sea - onboard a fishing vessel, which sails out from the harbour of Nakskov. Furthermore, you can go on a sail from the harbour of Kragenæs to the islands Fejø and Femø, or simply enjoy a quiet evening sail. In Nakskov you can challenge each other on the alleys of the bowling centre.
Worth a visit
At the beautiful manor house Pederstrup you can visit the art museum Reventlow-Museet with permanent collections and varying exhibitions, as well as a large park from the 1870'ies with more rare and very old trees (3 km). In the historic town of Nakskov you will find sights like f.ex. the sugar museum Danmarks Sukkermuseum, which informs of the story of the sugar throughout 130 years and the botanical garden Købelevhaven. Go on a trip to Fejø - the largest of the islands in the waters Smålandsfarvandet. Here you can experience genuine village idyll, orchards, small stalls along the roads, a beautiful church, potteries, candle factories, restaurants, fresh sea air, small beaches, peace, tranquillity and lovely nature. The ferry sails out from Kragenæs (11 km).
Visit the pretty old market town Maribo. Here you can experience the cosy atmosphere, music, marked days, interesting shops, sightseeing and restaurants (24 km). The open-air museum in Maribo is situated right down to the lake Maribo Sø and consists of a few houses, a farm, a post mill and a school, which give you an impression of the peasant culture of the area and the architectural style around the year 1800. In Knuthenborg Safaripark near Maribo the wild animals are move around in natural surroundings - right around your car or bus. Giraffes and rhinos on one side and ostriches, antelopes and zebras on the other (25 km). The mediaeval centre Middelaldercentres is an open-air museum near Sundby, where an authentic environment from the 14th century has been constructed with houses, workshops, ships, vessels and a catapult (48 km). In Nykøbing Falster Zoo (Folkeparken) you can experience no less than 500 animals, divided on 94 species (50 km).
