The holiday house area of Hyldetofte is a quiet and calm holiday destination for the whole family. The area is ideal for anglers and bird lovers, but it also appeals to families with children. Rødby, 9 km from Hyldtofte, offers good shopping possibilities and a couple of restaurants. You can sail directly to Rødby from Puttgarden in Germany, and the crossing takes 45 minutes.
A fine and wide bathing beach with dunes is available by Hyldtofte. The water is shallow, which makes the beach very suitable for children.
The landscape, surrounding Hyldtofte, is level and characterized by fields, meadows and dikes. A number of scenic walking and bicycle paths are available close to the sea. You can i.a. follow the 40 km long path 'Digesti', which leads you from Rødbyhavn to Albuen along the strait 'Femeren Bælt'.
A few km south-east of Hyldtofte the untouched nature reserve 'Hyllekrog-Saksfjed' is situated. The 5 km long Hyllekrog spit sticks out into the Baltic, and many resting ducks and wading birds reside here. From the dike by 'Store Brunddrag' you can observe bird of prey.
A couple of km behind the coast you will find the beautiful forest 'Kristianssæde Skov' with many walking paths. In the nature park 'Maribosøerne' you can walk in the scenic landscape or go sailing on one of the four lakes, where you can observe a rich bird life.
Lolland has 2 golf courses: 'Vestlollands Golfklub' by Nakskov and 'Golfklubben Maribo Sø' by Maribo.
Lolland is a paradise for anglers, no matter if you wish to fish from the shore or onboard a fishing vessel on the sea. M/S Emanuel departs regularly from Rødbyhavn. In Dannemare a Put & Take fishpond is available.
In Maribo you can go on a cruise on the lakes or visit the bowling centre MARIBOWL.

The former barracks 'Polakkasernen' in Tågerup are now a museum, and here you can get an insight into the life and work of the Polish women, who worked in the beet fields (6 km).
Visit the small town Kramnitse, which is situated about 17 km towards east. Sense the atmosphere in the small idyllic harbour, where you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishing boats.
Visit the pretty old marked town Maribo. Here you can experience the cosy atmosphere, music, marked days, interesting shops, sights and restaurants (25 km). The open-air museum `Frilandsmuseet¿ in Maribo is situated right by the lake 'Maribo Sø' and consists of a few houses, a farm, a post mill and a school. The museum gives you an impression of the peasant culture and the architectural style of the area around the year 1800.
In 'Knuthenborg Safaripark' by Maribo the wild animals move around in their natural surroundings - right around your car or bus. Observe giraffes, rhinos, ostriches, antelopes, zebras and Siberian tigers at close range.
The estate 'Søholt Gods' is situated close to Maribo, and here you can visit the uniquely preserved baroque garden.
'Middelaldercentret' is an open-air museum by Sundby, where an authentic village from the 12th. century with houses, workshops, ships, vessels and a catapult has been created (50 km).
