The peaceful and cosy holiday area Vile is situated by the Liim Fiord in the cove 'Harre Vig' on the peninsular Salling.

The area, surrounding Vile is quiet and characterized by scenic nature landscapes. This place appeals in particular to anglers and others, who enjoy sojourning in fresh air and lovely nature.
It is possible to buy groceries in the area, which also offers more local sights and leisure activities. Glyngøre, 6 km north of Vile, offers more shops and restaurants.
You will find more good beaches along the west coast of Salling. The beach 'Vile Strand' in the cove 'Harre Vig' is a fine Liim Fiord beach, which is suitable for children. The beach of Glyngøre, 6 km north of Vile, is a good and wide sandy beach with clear water, Blue Flag and good opportunities for swimming and windsurfing. Petanque and beach volley courts are also available here.
The nearby bridge 'Sallingsundbroen' leads you to Mors, where you can experience the preserved nature area 'Legind Bjerge'. Here you will find a very varied forest with valleys, lakes, high, old trees from north-western USA as well as an abundance of interesting paths, which lead you through the scenic areas.
During the summer, the vintage ferry Cathrine K. sails from Glyngøre to f.x. Livø. The island is traffic-free and offers a scenic nature with large oak forests, more marked walking paths, cliffs, a rich animal life with i.a. seals as wells as a quite unique silence.
Near Vile the golf course of 'Harre Vig Golfklub' is situated. You will find 2 other good courses nearby by 'Morsø Golfklub' or 'Skive Golfklub'.
Anglers can throw the line into the inlet. Furthermore, more fishponds are available in the area, i.a. like 'Vile Put & Take Sø', which is a 3,000 square metres lake in beautiful settings.
The nature landscape, surrounding the sound Sallingsund, offers a number of good walking and bicycle routes, which lead you through areas with prehistoric relics.
The museum 'Sallingsund og Omegns Museum' is situated in Glyngøre and shows an exhibition about the railway 'Sallingbanen', fishing and photography. Furthermore, you can see varying special exhibitions here (6 km).
The flower park 'Jesperhus Blomsterpark' on the Liim Fiord island Mors is the largest flower park in Scandinavia with colourful flower arrangements, jungle zoo with i.a. beautiful tropical birds, pirate and play land as well as a water world (8 km).
The castle Højriis Slot is like something out of a fairy-tale. It is Denmark's oldest manor house and open to the public. Here you will find an exhibition about the Sleeping Beauty among other things (11 km)
In the castle museum 'Spøttrup Borgmuseum' you can see how people lived in the rough and beautiful mediaeval castle throughout the years. Experience the medicine, rose and herb garden as well. Activities, music, exhibitions, theatre and marked days are also arranged here.
The manor house 'Hessel' on the preserved peninsular Louns by Hvalpsund is the only preserved manor house in Denmark with a thatched roof. Here you can experience how family and servants lived in the old days (24 km).
From Branden on Salling you can sail out to the island Fur. Fur offers diversified and distinctive landscapes, which is characterized by level moors, lakes, fields, hills, steep coastal cliffs, forests and moler graves (25 km).
The open-air museum 'Hjerl Hede Frilandsmuseum' is an interesting and lifelike museum for the whole family. See how the daily life in the country 150 years ago is vitalized (37 km).
The scenically situated stone age centre 'Stenaldercentret' in Ertebølle describes the nature in and around Ertebølle 6-7,000 years ago as well as the life of the people in this environment. Among other things finds from a stone age kitchen midden are displayed here. A reconstructed village shows what the huts of that time looked like (42 km).
