Glenstrup Sø is the largest and deepest lake in northern Jutland and situated south of Hobro, near the inlet 'Mariager Fjord'.

If you prefer to swim in the sea, the lovely sandy beach of Øster Hurup is situated about 50 km towards north-east. Because of its shallow water and Blue Flag, the beach is very suitable for children.
Glenstrup Sø is 384 hectares large and up to 30 metres deep. Hilly valleys, fields, forest and hundreds of springs characterize the area around the lake, which is abounding in fish. The lake is also the habitat of many birds and function as a resting place for more migrating birds. The area has a number of roads and paths, which invite walks.
Glenstrup Sø is well stocked with fish and an Eldorado for anglers. You can either fish from the shore of the lake or rent a boat and fish on the 30 metres deep sea. The discharge of the lake, the stream 'Kongsvad Mølleå' is equally fishing spot.
You will find more good golf courses near Glenstrup. By the forest Rold Skov you can play on a lovely course (36 km), but also towards south-west by Viborg and Hjarbæk you will find two good golf courses.
Hobro Museum is established in the oldest house in town from the year 1821 and creates the settings for the local culture history of the district (8 km).
Gasmuseet is situated in the old industrial buildings on the harbour of Hobro and informs about the story of the coal and the gas of the gas cylinders.
In the viking centre 'Fyrkat' by the inlet 'Mariager Fjord' you will find activities and sights, which bring you about 1,000 years back in time and illustrates life on one of the largest viking castle of that time. Fyrkat Møllegård is a preserved half-timbered farm with a more than 200 years old watermill.
Visit 'Verdenskortet' (the world map) in the scenic area by the lake 'Klejtrup Sø'. Here you can see the whole world in a miniature scale with i.a. lakes, rivers and mountain ranges (17 km).
Experience the idyllic old market town Mariager. The town is famous for its inlet, its roses, the old wry half-timbered houses and streets with cobbled stones (19 km).
Danmarks Saltcenter by Mariager is Scandinavia's largest tourist attraction with the raw material salt as the theme.
In Randers Regnskov you can experience jungle paths, rocks, crocodiles and waterfalls. Randers Regnskov lives up to its name (25 km).
Visit Århus, the 'capital' of Jutland, with the amusement park 'Tivoli Friheden', the open-air museum 'Den Gamle By', the music house 'Musikhuset', the small and intimate alleys of the Latin Quarter with interesting shops, the cosy pedestrian streets, the vivid atmosphere by the cafés by the stream 'Vadestedet', the forest 'Marselisborgskoven' and much more (63 km).
