The small, cosy village Ejerslev is surrounded by peaceful and recreational nature. The town has its own small harbour and an impressive moler (clay) pit by the inlet. The holiday house area Ejerslev Lyng is situated west of the village, right by a lovely bathing beach. It is possible to buy groceries in Sejerslev, 3 km inland from the shore, and 18 km towards south you will find the 'capital' of Mors, Nykøbing Mors, which offers many shops, restaurants, sights and a cosy harbour atmosphere. Mors offers a scenic and very varying nature. The island is characterized by many small village communities with a cosy atmosphere, and invites holiday in peace and quiet.

By Ejerslev Lyng you will find a good beach, which is suitable for children. By Nykøbing you can swim by the beach 'Nykøbing Østerstrand' on the bar ¿Ørodde¿. The beach is a good bathing beach with bathing jetty and Blue Flag. The 20 m wide and 20 km long beach with sand and stones has shallow, clear water and a lovely sandy bottom. Therefore the beach is very suitable for children. Beach volley is a very popular activity here. If you wish to swim by the wide and white sandy beaches of the North Sea, the shore is situated only 50 km from Ejerslev.


The nature, surrounding Ejerslev, is characterized by fields and moler graves. By the moler ditch 'Ejerslev Molergrav' you can see the beautiful moler slopes, which rise steeply from the shore. The most famous place is Hanklit (61 m), which shows a geological history that goes back more than 55 million years. The fossilized animals and plants, which have been found here, can be seen on the museum 'Molermuseet'. The scenic surroundings invite walks along the beach or along one of the marked paths, which lead through the moler ditch. On the northern part of Mors the viewpoint 'Salgerhøj' is situated. With the 87 metres above sea level it is the highest point on Mors. The forest 'Legind Bjerge Plantage' is a very varied forest with valleys, lakes and high old trees from north-western USA (22 km). Mors and the neighbouring island Fur are the only places in the world with deposit of the clay 'moler' in the subsoil.


Golf players will find good opportunities in the area. 'Moors Golfklub' by Nykøbing has been established on a meadow area with a stream system. In Gatten you will find Northern Europe's largest golf grounds; Himmerland Golf & Country Club, with challenges for both beginners and experienced golf players (80 km). The fishing possibilities are ideal along the beautiful Liim Fiord shores on Mors. Furthermore a couple of Put & Take fishponds are available in the area, like i.a. 'Morsø Fiskepark' by Nykøbing. Mors also offers sporting leisure activities like golf, tennis and beach volley among other things. Mors is ideal for an active holiday, and it is possible to rent bicycles here and follow the marked sunshine route (solskinsruten) all around the island (120 km all together).

Worth a visit

On 'Molermuseet' in Hesselbjerg you can see the amazing finds of 55 million years old fossils (fossilized animals and plants), which were dug out from the moler (3 km). 'Skarregaard' is an old and well-preserved family farm in scenic surroundings. Today the farm functions as a farm museum. The surrounding landscape with rich forests, green fields, lakes as well as prehistoric relics is also an experience (4 km). The market town Nykøbing is the 'capital' of Mors. Experience the small and cosy streets in the harbour district with the old workers' houses. The harbour of Nykøbing lies in continuation of the evocative pedestrian street, and here you will find a lovely, local harbour atmosphere and more good restaurants (18 km). The convent 'Dueholm Kloster' in Nykøbing is the oldest building in town from the year 1371. Today the 5 historic buildings contain exhibitions. Mors is rich in galleries, exhibitions, collections and museums.

Excursion spots

The flower park 'Jesperhus Blomsterpark' is a large flower park with colourful flower arrangements, jungle zoo with i.a. beautiful tropical birds, play land and water world (22 km). The castle Højriis Slot is Denmark¿s oldest manor house and like something out of a fairy-tale. Here you will find an exhibition about the Sleeping Beauty (26 km). The manor house 'Hessel' on the preserved peninsular Louns is the only preserved manor house in Denmark with a thatched roof. Here you can experience how family and servants lived in the old days (48 km). The open-air museum 'Hjerl Hede Frilandsmuseum' is an interesting and lifelike museum for the whole family. See how the daily life in the country 150 years ago is vitalized (60 km). The scenically situated stone age centre 'Stenaldercentret' in Ertebølle describes the life and nature in and around Ertebølle 6-7,000 years ago. A reconstructed village shows what the huts of that time looked like (65 km).
