The holiday area Følle Strand is situated by the cove 'Kalø Vig' in the bottom of the bay of Århus. From the bay of Følle you can enjoy the view of Mols, the forest 'Hestehaveskoven' and the castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin'. You will find good shopping possibilities in Rønde, which is located about 4 km from Følle Strand.
Følle Strand is a cosy holiday destination with good beach, lovely nature and leisure activities for the whole family. At the same time, Følle Strand is a good starting point for excursions to the many sights of Djursland.
The beach of Følle is a lovely sandy beach. The water is shallow in the bottom of the bay 'Kalø Vig', and therefore the beach is very suitable for children. The beach also offers good conditions for windsurfers.
The forest 'Hestehaveskoven' is situated by the castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin' and is characterized by a mixed stand, rich vegetation and animal life as well as beautiful salt meadows down towards the cove 'Slotsvigen'.
Here you will also find the forest 'Vosnæsskoven' with the point 'Vosnæs Pynt', which sticks out in the shallow cove of Kalø.
By the mouth of the cove 'Knebel Vig' the sound is narrow and has steep slopes - on of the most beautiful areas of the district.
The area ''Mols Bjerge' is a magnificent and preserved nature landscape with a varying nature, walking paths, grave mounds and a rich animal life. Thick forest is replaced by open moorland hills and you can enjoy a great view from the viewpoints 'Agri Bavnehøj' and 'Trehøje'.
The peninsular Helgenæs offers an interesting, scenic and undulating nature with many culture-historic memorials.
In a greatly undulating terrain with a view of the cove 'Ebeltoft Vig' and Helgenæs the area 'Fuglsø Bakker' is situated.
The area offers good conditions for walking and bicycle trips. It is possible to rent bikes more places in the area. Or try a riding trip along the undulations bridle paths of Djursland - riding horses can also be rented in the area.
No less than 4 golf courses area available in the area, i.a. by 'Kalø Golf Center', where guest players are welcome.
Anglers will find good opportunities in the many streams and Put & Take fishponds of the area, off the coast or on the sea. Fishing trips with a fishing vessel area arranged from Ebeltoft.
If you feel like observing the area from the seaward side, you can join a sailing trip, which takes you on a sail along the shore off Følle Strand.
Furthermore, diving, water skiing, jet skiing, canoe sailing as well as tennis are popular activities here.
The castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin' from the year 1313 is a famous tourist attraction. The ruin is scenically situated right by the cove of Kalø Vig. In excess of the ruin itself and the dam, leading to it, you are able to see a number of remains of other installations with connection to Kalø in close vicinity to the ruin: The redoubt 'Grevens Skanse', the spring 'Tobiæ Kilde' and the church 'Bregnet Kirke'. Furthermore, you will find more well-preserved cromlechs and grave mounds from the stone age in the surrounding forests.
The amusement park 'Djurs Sommerland' is a fun and interesting experience for the whole family. When the entry has been paid, you can make use of all activities for free.
An impressive sight awaits you in the aquarium 'Kattegatcentret'. Observe the fearful sharks at close range behind a thick pane of glass.
Moat, forest, fields and meadow scenically surround the castle 'Gl. Estrup'. The castle also contains a manor house museum and an agricultural museum.
The frigate 'Jylland' is the largest wooden warship in the world. The hull is 71 metres long, the spread of canvas is 1,881 square metres and it weights 2,450.
In the 'rain forest' Randers Regnskov you can experience jungle paths, rocks, crocodiles and waterfalls.
Experience the activity and the atmosphere of the cosy towns Ebeltoft and Grenå. The towns carry you back in time with their narrow, cobbled streets and lopsided houses.
Visit Århus, the 'capital' of Jutland, with an abundance of sights, shops and restaurants.
