The quiet and cosy holiday house area Dragsmur is situated between the peninsular Helgenæs and the coves 'Begtrup Vig' and 'Ebeltoft Vig'. Scenic areas and historic memorials surround Dragsmur. Close to the area you will find the preserved and spectacular nature landscape Mols Bjerge with more viewpoints. It is possible to buy groceries in the area. The nearest larger town is Ebeltoft, which is situated 15 km from Dragsmur. Ebeltoft offers good shopping possibilities, restaurants and more sights.
Both east and west of the tongue 'Draget' you will find good beaches, which are suitable for children. Bathing jetties are often available by the beaches. The beach of Fuglsø is a small and quiet beach. The beach of Femmøller towards north is a good and sandy beach, which is sheltered by small elevations with trees and bushes. The long and sheltered beach of Begstrup towards west is also a lovely beach with shallow water, which makes it very suitable for children. Windsurfers will find good conditions here. Don't miss the unique sunset over the Kattegat from the beaches.
The peninsular Helgenæs is situated just south of Dragsmur. The area is an interesting, scenic and undulating area with more culture-historical memorials. A few km towards north the area 'Mols Bjerge' (the mountains of Mols) is situated. The area is a magnificent and preserved nature landscape with a varying nature, a number of walking paths, grave mounds and a rich animal life. Thick forest is replaced by open moorland hills and you can enjoy a great view of Mols, the Kattegat as well as the coves 'Kalø Vig' and 'Ebeltoft Vig' from the viewpoints 'Agri Bavnehøj' (137 m) and 'Trehøje' (127 m). The very undulating terrain of 'Fuglsø Bakker' provides some great views of the Helgenæs and cove 'Ebeltoft Vig'.
You will find good fishing spots on both sides of the tongue Draget as well as on the southern tip of Helgenæs. It is also possible to fish in the stream 'Femmøller Å' and in the Put & Take fishponds of the area. Djursland offers more scenic golf courses. The closest one is the course of 'Kalø Golf Club', from which you can enjoy the view of the bay 'Århus Bugt' as well as the castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin'. Lovely nature experiences await you along the many walking, bicycle and bridle paths of the area.
Worth a visit
You will find numerous grave mounds, redoubts and other relics in the area around Dragsmur and Mols Bjerge. On the Helgenæs you can experience relics as well as old village environments with narrow streets and small, well-preserved houses. The castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin' from the year 1313 is a famous tourist attraction. The ruin is scenically situated right by the cove of Kalø Vig treasures many incredible and interesting stories (14 km). The cosy, 700-years old town Ebeltoft abounds in historic sights. Take a walk in the old part of town along the cobbled streets between the lopsided houses and cosy, small shops (15 km). In 'Ebeltoft Zoo & Safari' the animal species are divided on four continents, as they would be in nature. The frigate 'Jylland' is the largest wooden warship in the world. The hull is 71 metres long, the spread of canvas is 1,881 square metres and it weights 2,450.
In the animal park 'Skandinavisk Dyrepark' you will have genuine nature experiences. From the 250 metres long footbridge you can observe the bears in the amazing bear park (28 km). The amusement park 'Djurs Sommerland' is a fun and interesting experience for the whole family. When the entry has been paid, you can make use of all activities for free (34 km). Moat, forest, fields and meadow scenically surround the castle 'Gl. Estrup'. The castle also contains a manor house museum and an agricultural museum (37 km). An impressive sight awaits you in the aquarium 'Kattegatcentret'. Observe the fearful sharks at close range behind a thick pane of glass (40 km). Visit Århus, the 'capital' of Jutland, with the amusement park 'Tivoli Friheden', the open-air museum 'Den Gamle By', the music house 'Musikhuset', the small and intimate alleys of the Latin Quarter, the cosy pedestrian streets, the lively atmosphere by stream 'Vadestedet' as well as the forest 'Marselisborgskoven' (47 km).
