The quiet and cosy holiday area by Dråby Strand is sheltered by the hills behind Ebeltoft. This place invites relaxation and lovely nature experiences. At the same time, the location is ideal for an active holiday for the whole family, as Djursland offers a number of leisure activities, interesting sights and excursion spots. It is possible to buy groceries in the area.
The 4 km long sandy beach with pebbles by Dråby has a sandy beach and relatively deep water. It is possible to drive your car on the beach. By Boeslum, a few km towards south, you will find a beach, which is very suitable for children. Here the sand is fine and the water is shallow. The beach of Boeslum is one of the best bathing beaches of Djursland. Surfers will also find good conditions here.
Just south of Dråby you will find the scenic marsh area Gungerne. Enjoy a walk here on a quiet summer evening. Further south the scenic plantation 'Boeslum Plantage' with beach and green areas is situated. Here you will also find 'Jernhatten' - a 50 metres high hills, which lies right behind the beach. Between Øer and Elsegårde, south of Boeslum, you will find a large moorland area. Here you will find many rare and preserved animal and plant species. In other respects the terrain is undulating, which provides you with good views of the landscape and the sea. All over the area you will find many good nature paths. The area 'Mols Bjerge' (the mountains of Mols) is a magnificent and preserved nature landscape with a varying nature, a number of walking paths, grave mounds and a rich animal life. Thick forest is replaced by open moorland hills and you can enjoy some great views from the viewpoints 'Agri Bavnehøj' (137 m) and 'Trehøje' (127 m).
More golf courses are available on Djursland. The closest is the 18-hole course of 'Ebeltoft Golfklub', which is scenically situated in a hilly terrain - right opposite Dråby. The area is very suitable for anglers, as it is possible to fish directly from the shore, on the sea or in the fishpond 'Øer Put & Take'. Furthermore, it is possible to go deep-sea fishing onboard a fishing vessel from Ebeltoft. The area offers a number of good walking and bicycle paths. Kite surfing is another popular activity in this area. You can climb the 50 metres high hill 'Jernhatten' in order to enjoy the view or to paraglide from here.
Worth a visit
Experience the activity and the atmosphere of the 700 years old marked town Ebeltoft. The town carries you back in time with its narrow, cobbled streets and lopsided houses. Here you will find good shops and restaurants as well as more interesting sights (5 km). The glass museum 'Glasmuseet' in Ebeltoft contains an acknowledged collection of modern, international glass art. Here you can also bye glass art and watch the glassblowers work. The frigate 'Jylland' is the largest wooden warship in the world. The hull is 71 metres long, the spread of canvas is 1,881 square metres and it weights 2,450. In 'Ree Park - Ebeltoft Safari' the animal species are divided on four continents, as they would be in nature. Experience the fantastic spectacle over the savannah with the many different animals. The old, idyllic village Elsegårde with its own village pond is situated 6 km from Dråby.
In the animal park 'Skandinavisk Dyrepark' by Kolind you will have genuine nature experiences. From the 250 metres long footbridge you can observe the bears in the amazing bear park (25 km). The amusement park 'Djurs Sommerland' is a fun and interesting experience for the whole family. When the entry has been paid, you can make use of all activities for free (30 km). The castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin' from the year 1313 is a famous tourist attraction. The ruin is scenically situated right by the cove of Kalø Vig. An impressive sight awaits you in the aquarium 'Kattegatcentret'. Observe the fearful sharks at close range behind a thick pane of glass (33 km). Moat, forest, fields and meadow scenically surround the castle 'Gl. Estrup'. The castle also contains a manor house museum and an agricultural museum (41 km). In the 'rain forest' you can experience jungle paths, rocks, crocodiles and waterfalls. Randers Regnskov lives up to its name (56 km).
