In the middle of Djursland you will find Denmark’s most natural wildlife park, where there is plenty of room for both animals and people. The animals always come first, and as a guest you will get an exceptional opportunity to get close to the animals from long footbridges that wind in and out through the beautiful Danish landscape.
In the polar bear parks, you will meet Denmark’s largest group of polar bears, and in the bear park the playful brown bears are busy gambolling around, swimming and playing. Our North European wolf pack has adapted well in the wolf park, and in the deer parks you can meet all the different Scandinavian species of deer. You can get close to Bambi during hand feeding in the fallow deer park, and you will have the opportunity to pat a reindeer or small naughty goats on the playground.
You can learn a lot more about the large predators during the feedings and listen to the guides’ exciting narratives every day all season long. Be enthralled by the majestic Steller’s sea eagles during the daily eagle shows, where the beautiful raptors snap fish in the lake and fly from treetop to treetop. On the tour around the park you will also meet the other animals in the park, and you can make many fun discoveries in the animal world.
On the exciting nature trail you will get up close with the wildlife in the park, and you will get inspiration to create an animal friendly garden at home. You will walk among insect hotels, heaps of stones and brushwood, banks, flowers and fruit bushes. On the protected meadow you can find the Danish Orchid and the May Orchid. Often you will see the large raptor, the red kite, soaring in the air as well as the pitch-black raven. If you are lucky, you will also get a glimpse of the lightning quick falcon.
Spend lots of time in the huge playground, where a climbing mountain, an obstacle course, jumping pillows and aerial runways will challenge the whole family. Visit Café Bjælkehuset, grill your food in the grill hut or enjoy the food you bring along in the big picnic areas with a view of the playground.
