We take care of the water quality
The water quality in SOL OG STRANDs holiday houses with a swimming pool or a whirlpool is always fully at top level. This is mainly because all the houses with a swimming pool or a whirlpool with water staying in it at least once a week receive a free control visit from SOL OG STRANDs specially trained service staff members.
The control visit may have taken place before your arrival - or it will take place during your stay. During the visit, the contents of chlorine and the pH value of the water gets analysed, controlled and adjusted if necessary. Moreover, the temperature and the clearness of the water get controlled and naturally, the technique gets tested as well.
All our service staff members have received special training and have obtained a diploma of swimming pool technique and water quality. This is your guarantee for a correct control of private swimming pools and whirlpools when renting a holiday house through SOL OG STRAND. However, one cannot compare a swimming pool and a whirlpool in a holiday house with public swimming baths.
For a successful holiday you need to observe a few simple rules. If you do so, we guarantee that you will get a successful holiday with a swimming pool and a whirlpool.
PERFECT WATER QUALITY
A swimming pool in a holiday house contains 16-20 m3 of water on average and the water temperature is between 24 and 28º C. The average depth of the swimming pool is 1.5-1.8 metres and the water constantly gets filtered.
Furthermore, SOL OG STRANDs service staff members make a continuously updated control of the contents of chlorine as well as the pH value of the water.
The first precondition of us offering you the best water quality is that the number of persons stated when booking the holiday house is correct.
This is crucial in order for the service staff member to dose the optimum quantity of chlorine, because chlorine is "used up" faster the more persons who use the swimming pool. Thus, the contents of chlorine get adjusted individually according to your holiday. In addition, it is very important to follow the bathing rules.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION
In order to heat big quantities of water, you need a rather big quantity of energy.
However, you can contribute to reducing consumption. The easiest way to do so is to cover the swimming pool with the thermocover at all times when the swimming pool is not in use. In this way, the consumption of energy as well as the evaporation in the room are reduced. This is the case for both types of whirlpools.
Do never switch off the technique of a swimming pool or a whirlpool. This will not save electricity but might on the contrary result in an increased electricity bill. Besides, it may damage the water quality because the cleansing filters cannot work
WHIRLPOOL - 2 TYPES
In SOL OG STRANDs holiday houses there are two main types of whirlpools.
One of the types can be regarded as a miniature swimming pool because the water remains in the whirlpool during your whole stay in the house.
The other type of whirlpool has to be filled with fresh water every time one wants to use it. There must be water 10-15 centimetres above the side jets.
PREFILLED WHIRLPOOL
One of the types can be regarded as a miniature swimming pool because the water, which has been heated to a temperature of approximately 38º C, remains in the whirlpool during your whole stay in the house. The water has an admixture of chlorine and gets filtered and purified constantly as in a swimming pool.
The technical and electrical installations of this type of whirlpool must never be switched off since this can result in serious reductions of the water quality - one of the reasons being lack of filtration. |
NORMAL WHIRLPOOL
The other type of whirlpool has to be filled with fresh water every time one wants to use it. There must be water 10-15 centimetres above the side jets. If not, the whirlpool does not work. Most whirlpools of this type are equipped with a heating element which makes the fresh water (max. 30º C) reach a temperature of about 38º C within 1-1½ hours. However, some of those whirlpools are to be filled with hot water (max. 40º C) - please always notice the separate directions in the house.
High water temperatures provide a perfect environment for germs. Therefore, it is very important that a minimum of germs is added to the whirlpools. In order for this to be fulfilled, please always follow the bathing rules and please note that the water in a whirlpool in which you are supposed to change the water every time never must be used again, and that clorine tablets are to be added with reference to guidance by the whirlpool. Moreover, it must be emptied and rinsed after each bathing. This type of whirlpool does not require any control visit since the water is changed each time after use. All whirlpooles in SOL OG STRAND holiday houses are disinfected by every removal.
Please also note that a brown layer of fat may appear in the rim of the whirlpool when it has been emptied. This does not necessarily mean that you have not observed the rules of hygiene. The reason is that the massages (the bubbles) and the hot water loosen fat and skin flakes which are left in the rim of the pool. Moreover, shampoo, bathing foam, soap or the like must never be used in a whirlpool, and animals can under no curcumstances enter the whirlpool. |
