§ 9 - Cancellation charge

A cancellation charge in the event of illness is an obligatory part of the rental agreement and insures the tenant against a compensation claim as a result of cancellation of the agreement due to illness.

The insurance comes into force in the event of death, serious accident or serious illness to one of the participants, provided that the holiday thereby cannot be held by the other participants. In each case of illness, a medical report with a diagnosis must be made available to SOL OG STRAND for acceptance at least 2 days before the moving-in date.

For practical purposes of proof, we recommend that the notice of termination of tenancy as a result of illness and the accompanying medical report are forwarded to SOL OG STRAND by registered letter. The insurance does not apply in the event of illness which occurs during the holiday.

In the event of cancellation due to illness, the paid-up rent is repaid with the deduction of the cancellation charge and an administration charge of EUR 55.00 +3% of the total rent. The cancellation charge is evident from the specification on the rental confirmation.

You can always denounce your tenancy agreement with SOL OG STRAND before the start of the tenancy against a reasonable compensation. The size of the compensation depends on the period of time from the denouncement of the tenancy agreement to the scheduled arrival time. Until November 30 you are able to denounce your tenancy without charge.

With SOL OG STRAND it is easy to clear your consumption of electricity etc. in the holiday home. When you rent a holiday home with us, you pay a deposit together with the 2 nd instalment of the rent. When your holiday is over, we calculate your consumption and set it off against the deposit. The additional amount is returned to your bank account no later than 3 weeks after your departure.

In that way the refundment takes place automatically and you don’t have to think about the settling at your departure.

Therefore, we register your account number in connection with the booking of your holiday home.

SOL OG STRAND is a member of the appeals committee for holiday home rental (Ankenævnet for Feriehusudlejning) – a private board of appeal, established by the trade organization of the holiday home agencies (Feriehusudlejernes Brancheforening).
