Animals in Denmark

The wildlife in Denmark is plentiful and multifarious, as Danish nature provides good living conditions for a number of wild animals. With a little luck you can experience mammals like for example red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, squirrels, foxes and hares, as well as amphibians and reptiles.

Furthermore, Denmark has a rich birdlife with passerines, wading birds, birds of prey, ducks and swans among others.

Please don?t feed the cats in the area when you stay in a holiday home in Denmark. If you feed the cats, they will find it difficult to cope by themselves once the holiday season is over.

The majority of animals in Denmark are completely harmless. However, you have to be cautious with a few of them. Be careful with animals like adders, ticks, weever fish and wasps/bees.
