Pets |
Top |
Pets are allowed where the presentation of the holiday home includes a pets symbol. This also shows whether 1, 2 or more pets are allowed. If you bring a pet, you will be charged an amount of EUR 22 per tenancy.
The individual tenant is responsible for the repair of any scratches as well as stains on floors, furniture etc.
We ask for your understanding in ensuring that the holiday home IS thoroughly cleaned and all dog or cat hairs are removed before departure â?" even if a final cleaning has been ordered.
The dog/cat must never be left alone in the holiday home. Usually, dogs are allowed on the beach if kept on a leash, according to Danish regulations. On the site you must also keep your dog on a leash out of consideration for your neighbours.
When travelling between countries of the EU and bringing a cat, dog or ferret into the country, you must carry a pet passport with you, documenting that the animal has been inoculated against rabies. Furthermore, the animal must be identifiable by means of a chip or tattoo. In order to obtain the passport, the pet must be inoculated no later than 3 weeks prior to your arrival in Denmark.
Please check the rules regarding the departure from Denmark and return to your home country when travelling with a dog or cat.

Photo |
Top |
Together with the holiday home presentation you will see a matching photo. If the holiday home is relatively new or if it is still under construction (note the building year), a model photo or drawing is used.
We therefore ask that you pay extra attention to the text and the symbols of the presentation when you rent a holiday home with a model photo or drawing. If a model photo or drawing is used, this will be indicated in the lower left-hand corner.
A holiday home may have been painted or refurbished inside, or other changes may have been made which may alter the appearance of the house so that it differs from that shown in the presentation.

Radio/ TV/ satellite dish |
Top |
The radio in the holiday home may be an older model or a transistor. The TV may not be able to receive Swedish /Norwegian TV programmes or coded channels, and in some areas it is not possible to receive more than one Danish channel. A remote control is not always available.
If the holiday home is equipped with a satellite dish, you must not adjust the position of the satellite dish, the LBN head or the receiver in any way. Failure to comply with this may result in the need for readjustment by a radio or television electrician, the cost of which will be charged back to the tenant. Heavy rain or stormy weather may result in a substantial reduction in the quality of reception via the antenna or satellite dish.
Sol og Strand cannot guarantee reception of specific satellite programmes.

Rubbish |
Top |
There is no rubbish collection at holiday homes on Saturdays, the usual day of arrival. You may, therefore, find that the rubbish has not been collected when you arrive. The local Sol og Strand office can usually inform you about the day of the next rubbish collection.
Remember that only proper rubbish bags will be collected. The bag must only be filled to the dotted line â?" or it will not be picked up.
If you need an extra rubbish bag, please contact the local Sol og Strand office, the nearest grocer's shop or the local tourist office.

Sauna |
Top |
Saunas in holiday homes are small (usually for 2 persons). Coloured towels may transfer colour onto the wooden benches and may, therefore, not be brought into the sauna. Resin may occur in the sauna.
NB! If it is not specifically stated in the holiday home, do not pour water on the sauna heater as this may cause a short-circuit and damage the heating element.

Site and sizE |
Top |
The size (m²) of the holiday home is measured from the outer walls (excl. terrace).
Usually the type of site is stated in the description of the house. In most cases the holiday home is situated on a natural site or a dune site, which means that the grass will not be cut. Only rarely does the site have a boundary line (fence, hedge or the like). While the size of the total site is shown in the symbols, trees, bushes and other vegetation may limit access in some areas. Similarly, the site may be part of a dune area which is unmarked. In occasional cases, seaside locations may have a public path to give access to the beach across the properties.
If the holiday home is relatively new, the layout of the site or garden may not have been completed and this may be inconsistent with the type of site stated in the description. In that case Sol og Strand will inform you whenever possible.

Smoking |
Top |
In some of our holiday homes, smoking is prohibited - see the individual house presentation. Please respect this request. We cannot guarantee, however, that noone has ever smoked in these houses. |
Special equipment |
Top |
Many holiday homes are equipped with, for example, a washing machine, tumbler, dishwasher, microwave oven etc. Repairs cannot always be carried out during the weekend although Sol og Strand will naturally do everything possible to repair the appliances as quickly as possible.
Sol og Strand bears no responsibility for short disruptions to the power supply.

Solarium |
Top |
If the holiday home contains a solarium, it is often a single solarium, which is usually mounted over one of the beds or in the bed-loft.
Please note that the tubes of solariums in the holiday homes are not as strong as the tubes of the solariums in the tanning centres, and therefore you should not expect to achieve the same tanning effect.
Should the tubes fail to operate, try turning them a centimetre round after which they will usually function again. Please bring your own safety spectacles.
|
Telephone |
Top |
If the holiday home contains a telephone, it may in a few cases be limited to incoming calls only. Check the description of the holiday home thoroughly. However, please note that it is always possible to reach the alarm centre '112' with any type of phone.
Most phones are equipped with a counter, located on the wall near the phone (or in some cases, in the tool shed or the like).
Please note that the ring tone can be adjusted/disconnected on many phones.
Check the telephone counter on arrival in order to prevent misunderstandings later.
Each metered unit costs DKK 2.25 (approx. EUR 0.30).
|
Terrace |
Top |
Most terraces are wooden, and they rarely have fencing. The terraces are often raised due to uneven ground. The gaps between the terrace boards can be up to 3 cm. Stone terraces may be uneven.
|
Unforeseen incidents |
Top |
Unforeseen incidents such as the compulsory sale of a rental holiday home, may force Sol og Strand to terminate an entered tenancy agreement as these types of incidents are outside of our control. We will, however, always do our utmost to find an alternative holiday home.
Following the case of theft, some appliances in the holiday home may not match exactly those stated in the presentation. In this case we will naturally provide replacements as soon as possible.
|
Validity |
Top |
The presentation of the holiday homes is valid from 05 January 2008 until 03 January 2009. You can, however, still book both before and after this period. In such cases, we reserve the right to change facilities/appliances, prices and allocation of the holiday homes as necessary for the forthcoming season.
Therefore, please check the information on your tenancy agreement thoroughly.
|
Valuables |
Top |
As elsewhere in the world, you must also guard your valuables in Denmark. Do not leave valuables, cash etc. inside when you leave your holiday home. Remember to lock the holiday home as well as your car.
Sol og Strand is unable to take out insurance coverage against theft/burglary.
|
Vermin |
Top |
The local Sol og Strand office is not responsible for and does not accept any compensation claims in connection with any occurrence of insects or vermin in the holiday home, as they are a part of the natural environment (for example, ants, earwigs, flies, woodlice, mice etc.).
In acute and extreme cases we ask you to contact the local office who will try to remedy the problem.
|
Water consumption |
Top |
In Denmark there is a very strong focus on environmentally correct behaviour.
This results in high duties on electricity and water consumption. As a tenant your contribution is collected via your consumption of electricity, oil and water in the holiday homes.
If you live in a holiday home, where you do not have to pay separately for the water, you are not permitted to set up your own pool and by doing so, thus consume extra quantities of water without payment.
Violation of this rule will result in Sol og Strand being forced to collect an additional amount for the estimated extra water consumption.
