Heating |
Top |
In the period from November to May we will start the preheating before your arrival. In that way the holiday home will be heated to a temperature of 14-18 degrees C by the time you arrive.
In houses with indoor swimming pools, the pool will have a temperature of 24-28 degrees C upon arrival. The reading on the electricity meter and the figure on the welcome card will, therefore, vary when you arrive.
You will be charged for consumption according to the figures shown on the welcome card. Please transfer these figures to the consumption form which you will receive when you collect your key.

Hire of cot, high chair and linen packages |
Top |
At most of the local Sol og Strand offices you can rent a cot, a high chair and linen packs (sheet, covers for duvet and a pillowcase, 2 towels and a dish towel).
The linen packs will in some cases be delivered to the holiday home on the day of arrival. In other cases you have to pick them up yourself and return them to the local office after your stay.
Please inquire about this when booking or upon arrival at the local office. The above items must be ordered no later than one week before arrival.

House description |
Top |
The descriptions of the privately-owned holiday homes are provided in good faith and are as accurate as possible. We reserve the right to make changes without prior notice and cannot be held responsible for printing or typing errors. Décor and furnishing of individual units is a matter of personal taste and is dependent upon that of the owner himself.
Floor plans are illustrated as accurately as possible, but they are intended only as a guideline and deviations regarding the locations of beds, woodburning stove, toilets etc. may occur. Terraces, basements, first floors, etc. are often not illustrated on the floor plan in order to maintain clarity.
|
Humidity |
Top |
A holiday home can often be unoccupied for long periods and, therefore, the indoor climate may feel humid and damp initially. The fastest and most efficient remedy is a thorough airing immediately upon arrival. |
Information |
Top |
A Sol og Strand information folder containing useful and practical information is provided in each holiday home. Please read through the folder.
If further questions should arise, please contact Sol og Strand. If necessary information is not found in the folder, please call us or send us an e-mail.

Instructions |
Top |
Wherever possible SOL OG STRAND makes sure that instructions for the special electric installations/ devices are available. In case of doubt you are welcome to contact your SOL OG STRAND sales and service office for guidance. |
Internet |
Top |
If you rent a holiday home with an internet connection, please bring along your own computer, unless it is stated otherwise in the tenancy agreement. The computer will require an Ethernet card and software. |
Key |
Top |
The key deposit place is stated in the tenancy agreement. Usually only one key is available per holiday home even though it may accommodate more than one family.
The keys for the mail box, the tool shed, etc. can usually be found in the house (for example, on the kitchen notice board) or together with the main key.
|
Kitchen equipment |
Top |
The kitchen equipment in the holiday home usually consists of the number of glasses, cups, plates and cutlery, corresponding to the number of persons stated in the presentation. The equipment can be a mixture of different types.
The houses often contain fewer pots and pans than in a private household. Egg-cups and egg spoons are not standard equipment in the holiday homes. Please clean the pots and pans as well as the oven thoroughly after use.
These rules apply even though you may have ordered a final cleaning. If several families inhabit the home or are staying near each other and dining together, please make sure that cutlery, pots, pans etc. are returned to their original holiday home.
|
Location |
Top |
It is not always evident from the photo that holiday homes are often situated very close to each other. Therefore, the perception of 'an undisturbed location' can be misleading or even incorrect. For more detailed information, please contact the local Sol og Strand office.
A holiday home can be described as child-friendly or quietly located even though there may be a road near the house.
A child-friendly location does not necessarily mean that the home is located close to a sand beach.
|
Military excercise |
Top |
Military exercises are often carried out in the following areas: Hevring, Jægerspris, Kulsbjerg, Melby, Nymindegab, Oksbøl/Blåvand, Ho, Vejers, Rømø, Lystrup, Raghammer, Sjællands Odde, Grærup, Sømarken and Tranum/ Rødhus.
Training activities, however, are often restricted during the holiday periods and are often advertised in the local papers.

Noise |
Top |
During your vacation, everyday life in Denmark goes on. In Denmark, it is permitted to carry out construction work from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the holiday periods. Sol og Strand will provide whenever possible information on actual building site work in progress.
Other noise can occur from, for example, restaurants, airplanes, cars, speedboats, military training etc. As Sol og Strand can have no knowledge of this noise in advance, we can take no responsibility for this. In the event of noise from other holiday home guests, we request you to contact them directly, as we are unable to assume any responsibility for this.
