The komodo dragon moves in

Observe the komodo dragon in its new facilities in Randers Regnskov.

On 14th January 2012 Randers Regnskov opens its brand new komodo facility. Here you can experience the big male komodo dragon, which can reach a length of 3 metres and a weight of up to 165 kg. The komodo dragon is feared because of its size and slightly scary appearance, but it is most dangerous because of its saliva, which contains so many bacteria that even large animals die after a single bite. Today, the komodo dragon is an endangered species. Just a few thousands of these lizards live in nature today - and hereof only 350 females, which are able to reproduce the species.
