24-03-2011
The art museum KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad shows two interesting exhibitions about the paddle steamer Hjejlen and the landscapes of Silkeborg.
From 7 May 2011 you can see two exhibitions at KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad, which are both based on Silkeborg. The art-historical exhibition 'The sublime landscape' contains 70 paintings, created by Danish painters from the early 19th century. The paintings shows the 'mountain' Himmelbjerget and other beautiful and untouched landscapes around Silkeborg, as they appeared in the 19th century. The 150-years anniversary of the paddle steamer Hjejlen is marked with the exhibition 'Contemporary artists expound the voyages with Hjejlen'. Here you can see art, for example drawings, paper collages and photos by Danish and foreign artist, which is based on the boatmen, passengers and the animal life around the boats. The exhibition is shown until 28 August 2011.
