Fossil octopuses at Moler Museet

Moler Museet on Mors shows an interesting special exhibition about fossil octopuses.
The annual special exhibition at Moler Museet consists of a large number of belemnites - preserved remains of the different octopuses of the past. Formerly belemnites were associated with superstition and people believed that they possessed magic and protective powers. The octopuses have existed for more than 500 million years and at the exhibition you can follow the development of the octopus throughout the years. See the beautiful fossils with rare shapes from Madagascar, Morocco and Europe among others. You can also see interesting finds from Danish limestone quarries and littoral dunes at the exhibition. You can see the exhibition from 1 May to 23 October 2011.
