Faith, hope and charity

Experience a series of intense photos by Jacob Holdt at the art museum HEART.
Throughout the last 40 years the Danish photographer Jacob Holdt has travelled to America several times in order to photograph Americans, mainly from the lower social classes. You can experience the result of these journeys at the exhibition 'Tro, håb og kærlighed - Jacob Holdts Amerika' (Faith, hope and charity - the America of Jacob Holdt) at the art museum HEART in Herning. The interesting photo reportage contains photos of people in ghettos, drug users, homeless as well as sick and hungry Americans. But in spite of the sad scenes, the photos of Jacob Holdt also contain faith, hope and charity in the middle of this despondency. You can see the exhibition from 10th February until 6th May 2012.
