The museum Reventlow-Museet on the manor Pederstrup shows an interesting exhibition about dresses and the feminine role in the 20th century.
In the beautiful rooms of the museum Reventlow-Museet you can gain an insight into the society and dream dresses of the landowner ladies during the 20th century. The exhibition 'Drømmekjoler og Kjoledrømme' (Dream dresses and Dress dreams) takes you to a party on a Danish manor, where the aristocratic women wore beautiful and modern dresses. Experience the dress fashion from the 1920?ies to the 1950?ies - from the short Charlston dress to the uniform inspired war dress and Christian Dior's New-Look. At the same time the dresses illustrate the development of the feminine role throughout the 20th century - from noble landowner lady to active housewife and modern woman. You can see the exhibition from 1 May to 30 September 2011.
