Anna Ancher in Arken
12-01-2011
Experience an exhibition with works of the far-sighted Danish painter Anna Ancher.
From 29 January 2011 you can visit the art museum Arken and gain insight into the artistic life of Anna Ancher. Anna Ancher lived in the years from 1859 to 1935 and was one of the greatest painters of that time in Denmark. She was the first Danish painter, who worked with pastel painting, and the exhibition therefore contains many of Anna Ancher?s pastels. But you can also see her drawings, oil sketches and oil paintings. Ann Ancher was inspired by her senses, the light in her town Skagen and her nearby surroundings, and her paintings are delicately detailed that they appear very present - even today. You can see the exhibition until 5 June 2011.
