The wide beach of Lakolk on the island Rømø creates the settings for the annual colourful kite flying festival.
From 2nd to 4th September 2011 you can visit Denmark?s largest kite flying event on Rømø and experience thousands of kites in the sky above the beach of Lakolk. This place is ideal for kite flying because of the constant wind from the North Sea. The beautiful, amusing and colourful kites are judged and the most imaginative will be awarded with a prize. Enjoy the sight of the kites, see when the kite ferry drops its cargo of toffees and experience night flying with illuminated kites.
