Denmark's best beach 2011

The beach Marielyst Strand on Falster has just been elected as Denmark's best beach 2011 by the Danish travel portal Rejseliv.dk.
20 kilometres of soft white sand, lovely sheltering dunes and child-friendly water convinced the majority of the persons, who voted on Denmark's best beach with Rejseliv.dk. Besides the great bathing opportunities, Marielyst Strand also offers good facilities, many activities and a lifeguard during the high season. Behind the beach you can walk your dog in the dog forest, visit a family health playground or walk on the 20 kilometres long dike from the 19th century. In the voting for Denmark?s best beach Marielyst Strand received almost 20 % of the votes. Dueodde Strand on Bornholm came in second with about 16 % of the votes and Fanø Strand came in third with about 13 % of all votes.
