Just 1 km from the cosy and charming old town Troense with its pretty streets, old half-timbered houses from the 18th century and a popular marina, you will find the beautiful castle Valdemars Slot. The castle offers access to more than 25 halls and chambers, which are completely furnished, as well as a large manor house kitchen and the evocative interior of a church. 'Nordre Porthus', one of the buildings of the castle, was converted into a flat in 2000. The 2-story flat is decorated in the old castle style with high ceilings and from here you can enjoy a scenic view of the water. The rooms are painted in light and harmonious colours and furnished with pretty, partly antique furniture. The floors are partly boarded, partly carpeted. The separate kitchen is equipped with dishwasher and from the kitchen you have direct access to the cosy dining room. Furthermore, the ground floor contains a bedroom with double bed and a bathroom. On the first floor you will find the commodious and pleasantly furnished TV room, which contains radio with CD player, TV and satellite (analogue). Furthermore, 8 romantically furnished bedrooms are available here: 7 with double bed and 1 with a single bed. 2 of the bedrooms have direct access to 2 of the 3 lovely bathrooms. You are allowed to walk all over the scenic park of the castle, and the lovely beach by Valdemars Slot offers good swimming opportunities. The beach has been awarded with the Blue Flag. Near the castle you will find one of Denmark's oldest water mills 'Ventepose Mølle', which originates from the 17th century. Today the mill is listed and owned by Valdemars Slot. Please notice: It is also possible to rent the flat 'Østerporten' on the castle as well as the houses 'Skovløberhuset' for 4 persons and 'Jagtgården' for 8 persons by the castle.
