Valdemars Slot contains 4 museums: A hunting and trophy museum, which rank as ranks as one of the most beautiful in Europe, the toy museum Danmarks Legetøjsmuseum, which is located on the loft over the stable, the yachting museum Danmarks Museum for Lystsejlads and last, but not least, Denmark's most extensive manor house museum with art and antiquities.

The surrounding area is of outstanding natural beauty and right outside the windows of Jagtgården you can enjoy the rich animal life. You are allowed to walk all over the area in consideration of nature, and in the forest area you will find a number of walking paths.

The castle offers access to more than 25 halls and chambers, which are completely furnished, as well as a large manor house kitchen and the evocative interior of a church.
'Nordre Porthus', one of the buildings of the castle, was converted into a flat in 2000. The 2-story flat is decorated in the old castle style with high ceilings and from here you can enjoy a scenic view of the water.
