Fjellerup Strand is an old fishing hamlet in an attractive holiday area.

The cosy and quiet holiday town Fjellerup Strand is situated on the northern coast of Djursland.
The holiday houses lay behind the dunes of the beach in a large nature area with forest. It is possible to buy groceries and dine in the area.
The sea, the beach, which is very suitable for children, the forests, the many leisure activities and sights make Fjellerup Strand a popular holiday destination for the whole family.

Beach

Fjellerup offers a good bathing beach with fine sand and dunes. The beach shallow water and a sandy bottom, which makes it suitable for children, and furthermore, it has been awarded with the Blue Flag.

Nature

Fjellerup and Djursland have a great and very varying nature with many paths and small roads, which are ideal for walks and bicycle trips. The scenic nature is characterized by heathery hills, moors, fields, long and varying stretches of coast with steep chalk slopes, lovely sandy beaches as well as forests, i.a. 'Troldeskovene', 'Mejlgård-skovene' and 'Løvenholm-skovene'.
Mols Bjerge is a magnificent and preserved nature landscape with a varying nature, a number of walking paths and a rich animal life. Thick forest is followed by open moor hills and from this area you can enjoy the great view of Mols and the sea.

Activities

Anglers will find good opportunities, both from the shore and in the Put & Take fishpond 'Djurs fiskesø'.
The area offers a ramified network of walking, bicycle and bridle paths.
Because of the wind and the waves, Fjellerup is also an attractive area for surfers.

Worth a visit

By the castle 'Mejlgård Slot', slightly west of Glesborg, you will find the 6,000-year old kitchen midden, which are of both archaeological and historic interest. To reach it you have to walk 3 km through the forest 'Mejlgårdskoven'.
The cromlechs by Tuestrup are also a historic sight.
North of Glesborg you will find the cliff 'Karlby Klint' and the lighthouse 'Fornæs Fyr'.

Excursion spots

The amusement park 'Djurs Sommerland', 7 km from Fjellerup, is a fun and interesting experience for the whole family. When the entry has been paid, you can make use of all activities for free.
An impressive sight awaits you in the aquarium 'Kattegatcentret' in Grenå. Observe the fearful sharks at close range behind a thick pane of glass.
Moat, forest, fields and meadow scenically surround the castle 'Gl. Estrup'. The castle also contains a manor house museum and an agricultural museum (15 km).
In the 'rain forest' you can experience jungle paths, rocks, crocodiles and waterfalls. Randers Regnskov lives up to its name (25 km).
Experience the activity and the atmosphere of the cosy towns Ebeltoft and Grenå. The towns carry you back in time with their narrow, cobbled streets and lopsided houses. You will find good shops and restaurants as well as more interesting sights in both towns.
