Djursland and Mols - unique nature and the 'capital' of Jutland

Djursland and Mols are surrounded by sea on 3 sides. The varying stretches of coast and the hilly landscapes were created during the latest Ice Age. Here you will find child-friendly, white beaches on all sides of the peninsula. Further inland the peninsula is characterized by vigorous nature, exceptional views, moor areas, woods, meadows, lakes and streams.
Northern Djursland is known for its towering limestone cliffs that are several million years old. Mols Bjerge in the southern part of the area is a magnificent landscape with a varying nature, a number of walking tracks and a rich animal life. It is ideal to visit the area on food, on bicycle or on horseback.
Furthermore, Djursland is characterized by its many well-preserved castles, manor houses and estates, decorating the landscape.

Culture

Djursland and Mols offer many cultural sights. Denmark's largest round barrow, well-preserved passage graves, grave mounds, about 80 churches - each with its own specific character - and relics, dating back to the Stone Age, can be located here.
The ruined palace Kalø Slotsruin at the inlet Kalø Vig represents the remains of redoubts from the English War.
In the many castles and manor houses you can almost sense the presence of history.

Activities

Ebeltoft Djursland and Mols offer a long number of activities for both children and adults. The area has a ramified network of walking paths and bicycle tracks.
Anglers are able to throw in the line from the waters edge, from the piers and from a boat on the sea as well as in the lakes and streams of the area.
Furthermore, diving, windsurfing, water-skiing, canoeing and horseback riding are among the popular sports on Djursland and Mols.

Cities/Towns

Ebeltoft and Grenå: Experience the atmosphere of the two cosy tourist towns. The narrow, cobbled streets and the lopsided houses make you imagine yourself back in another time. Together with the other small and cosy towns in the area, both towns buzz with activity and atmosphere throughout the summer.
Århus: The 'capital' of Jutland is also called the worlds smallest city, and here you will be met with a mixture of Scandinavian atmosphere, European style and Jutland spirit.
Århus is an extremely lively music city. The cosy streets in the city center tempt with their café life, restaurants and some of Europe's most cosy pubs. The cafés are situated along Vadestedet by the stream that runs through the city. And whether you shop in the main shopping streets or in the small quaint streets in the Latin Quarter, the variety is both wide and exciting. Read more on www.visitaarhus.com
