Grøn Verden Zoo is located in scenic and rural surroundings on the western part of Lolland, app. 8 km north of Nakskov. You are greeted in a tropical green world that will delight anyone, who cares about animals and plants. You can go exploring in the big greenhouses, filled with fish, exotic plants, tortoises, colourful parrots, monkeys, raccoons, monitors etc. When you are sated with experiences, you can quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger with coffee/tea, cold drinks, ice-cream, candy, various fast-foods and small warm dishes in the cosy Tropecafé. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch basket. However, drinks must be purchased on the spot. Grøn Verden Zoo is a spacious workplace, which employs mentally handicapped persons. Meaningful work and disabled accessibility have a high priority here.
