The lovely holiday house area of Nr. Lyngvig is a large preserved nature area, surrounded by sea and inlet.
 Nr. Lyngvig is situated on the bar Holmsland Klit, between Hvide Sande and Søndervig. The dunes and the North Sea can be found towards the west and towards the east, the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord is situated. The nature around Nr. Lyngvig is very scenic. A 282 hectares preserved area with high dunes, interesting vegetation and a rich animal life can be experienced here. A nature path leads right through this area, which also contains the lighthouse Nr. Lyngvig Fyr. From the 38 metres high lighthouse, which is Denmark's most highly situated lighthouse, you can enjoy the fantastic view over the water and the landscape.
By the lighthouse you will find the oldest built-up area of Nr. Lyngvigs. A collection of large beautiful dune farms from the 19th century are build out of red stones and have thatched roofs.
Nr. Lyngvig has a restaurant, a large indoor play land and a small cosy harbour with leisure boats.
Beach
The beach of Nr. Lyngvig is a wide sandy beach with a few stones and high dunes. Furthermore the beach has Blue Flag. You are not allowed to bring your car to the beach.
Nature
 The large beautiful dune landscape, surrounding the lighthouse Nr. Lyngvig Fyr, is preserved and has some of the highest dunes on the bar Holmsland Klit. Between the dunes the moor landscape is characterized by a scattered forest growth. In spite of the rough nature, many plants and animals live in the dunes and on the heaths.
Activities
The inlet Ringkøbing Fjord is one of the most famous windsurfing areas in Northern Europe. Therefore you will find 2 surf centres here. The large shallow water areas make it both easy and fun to learn how to surf in safe surroundings.
The area is ideal for hikes and bicycle trips - not least along the nature path.
By Søndervig you will find an 18-hole golf course. Furthermore tennis courts, an activity centre, a swim bath, two water worlds and a riding centre are available in the area.
The area is also attractive for anglers, who can fish both from the coast and in the fishponds. Deep-sea fishing onboard a fishing vessel is arranged in Hvide Sande.
Worth a visit
 The beautiful whitewashed church of Nr. Lyngvig is surrounded by low dunes and has the inlet as a background.
Experience the scenic view from the top of the lighthouse Nr. Lyngvig fyr. By the foot of the lighthouse you can learn about the plants and animals of the area.
The town Hvide Sande, situated in the middle of the bar Holmsland Klit, is the 5th. largest fishing harbour in Denmark. The town offers a mixture of vivid activity and quiet charm. 'Fiskernes Hus' in Hvide Sande is a contemporary museum that informs of the story of the fish - all the way from the North Sea to the consumer. Furthermore, fish auctions for tourists are arranged here.
Excursion spots
Visit the old and pretty provincial town Ringkøbing. The town is characterized by its houses with red tiled roofs and its old cobbled streets (18 km).
The preserved bird sanctuary Tipperne at the southern end of the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord is a bird Mekka - thousands of migratory birds can be observed here.
LEGOLAND, app. 100 km from Nr. Lyngvig, is build out of 50 million toy bricks. The park offers a number of opportunities for family activities.
In Givskud you can visit a combined lion park and zoo. Meet with more than 1,000 animals from the whole world on the 60 hectares large area.
