Næsbjerg is a cosy holiday area in scenic surroundings behind the shores of the North Sea

Fields and green areas surround the active and modern village Næsbjerg. Here you can enjoy the silence and the scenic nature of Western Jutland, and if you wish to do something else, you are just 9 km away from Varde, 25 km from Esbjerg and 30 km from the inviting beaches of the North Sea.
This area is rich in lovely nature areas, sights, activities, holiday towns and bathing beaches.
It is possible to buy groceries in Næsbjerg.

Beach

The wide and white North Sea beach with fine sand, dunes and Blue Flag is available by e.g. Henne Strand and Vejers Strand, both 35 km from Næsbjerg.
The beach of Henne is traffic-free, whereas motoring is allowed on the southern part of the beach of Vejers. The northern part is reserved for bicyclists and pedestrians. A salvage corps watches the beach during the high season.
If you wish to swim in calmer waters, you can visit the beaches of the bay Ho Bugt, which are located app. 21 km from Næsbjerg.
All beaches of the area invite bathing, sunbathing, playing beach volley and petanque, building sand castles, walking and searching for amber.

Nature

Næsbjerg is surrounded by fields and green areas, and just north of the village you will find the beautiful lake Karlsgårde Sø, which is surrounded by a lovely nature/forest area. Here you can walk, arrange a picnic or fish.
Visit the plantations behind Blåvand, which are inhabited by the country?s largest amount of red deer (32 km).
The peninsular Skallingen near Ho is scheduled as a natural amenity and nominated as scientific reference area. Here the seals gambol, and the bird life as well as the vegetation is quite unique (38 km).
Together with the shallow grounds around the peninsular, the bird sanctuary Tipperne in the southern end of the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord acts like resting area for thousands of wading birds, ducks and geese (43 km).

Activities

Angers can fish in the lake Karlsgårde Sø, which is very rich in fish like e.g. trout and pike. Furthermore, you can fish from the shores of the North Sea and in the many Put & Take fishponds of the area.
The area is suitable for golf players, who can test the beautiful courts in Varde, Esbjerg, Ho and Blåvand.
With its scenic and varying nature, the area invites nature experiences like e.g. walks, bicycle rides and sails.

Worth a visit

Næsbjerg contains a beautifully restored 700 years old church, which is open to the public during the day.
In the garden Tambour Have in the forest Nordenskov by the lake Karlsgårde Sø you can enjoy the tranquillity and the sight of the many scenic garden subjects (5 km). By the lake you can also see a wooden copy of the Little Mermaid.
Næsbjerg is surrounded by a number of interesting regional museums. Visit e.g. Artillerimuseet in Varde (9 km) and the amber museum Ravmuseet in Oksbøl (25 km).
Visit Esbjerg and experience e.g. the art museum, the sculpture by the sea ?Mennesket ved Havet?, the galleries, the many interesting shops and good restaurants (25 km). At the fishing and shipping museum Fiskeri- og Søfartsmuseet you can see colourful fish and dangerous sharks in the great aquaria. From the harbour of Esbjerg you can go on a pleasant harbour sightseeing tour.

Excursion spots

From Esbjerg you can sail to the island Fanø in 10 minutes. With its old idyllic town environments, houses with thatched roofs, scenic nature and magnificent bathing beaches it is definitely worth a visit.
In the holiday town Blåvand you can visit Bunkermuseet Tirpitz-udstillingen, the cosy Blåvand Zoo with e.g. petting animals as well as the lighthouse Blåvandshug Fyr - Denmark?s most westerly point (38 km).
LEGOLAND® is build out of 50 mio. bricks. Here you will find more than 50 amusing activities for the whole family. Experience the pirates of Piratland, a ride in Frog Hopper in Miniland as well as Bob the Builder and his friends (43 km).
Løveparken in Givskud is a combined lion park and zoo. Meet more than 1,000 animals from the whole world at the 60 hectares area (62 km).
