Grærup is situated in a very popular and scenic holiday area on the southern part of the Jutland west coast.
 The holiday house area Grærup Strand is located between Henne Strand and Vejers Strand on the lovely west coast. The town Grærup lays a few kilometres inland from the coast and is surrounded by scenic landscapes, good sandy beaches, sights and various leisure activities. You will find many shops and more restaurants in Grærup.
Beach
The 20 km long, white beach by Grærup is a lovely sandy beach with dunes, Blue Flag and shallow water, which makes the beach very suitable for children. The beach is traffic-free, and therefore if offers lots of space for swimming, sun bathing, walking, playing beach volley and carry on other activities.
Nature
 The nature landscape, surrounding Grærup, is characterized by the wide, white sandy beaches and the wind-swept dunes.
In the area behind the dunes you will find a beautiful landscape with unique possibilities for exploring the scenic nature in the plantation Kærsgaard Plantage and around the lake Langsø on food, on bicycle or perhaps from horseback.
The dune plantation 'Ho Klitplantage' is a large preserved dune and moor landscape with marked paths and viewpoints, from which you can experience a magnificent view of the dune landscape and the peninsular Skallingen, which is preserved and appointed as a scientific area. Here you can walk all the way out to the tip and experience the seals as the gambol in the deep tide stream and channels. The bird life and vegetation of the area are quite unique.
Activities
The network of bicycle and walking paths makes it possible to experience the area around Grærup at close range.
This area has a variety of leisure activities. You will find f.x. tropical water worlds, bowling centres, minigolf courses as well as tennis, squash, basketball and beach volley courts.
Golfers can choose between many good courses. The nearest one is the scenically situated Blåvandshuk Golfbane by the bay Ho Bugt, but also Henne, Esbjerg and Varde offer good golf courses.
Anglers can throw out the line directly from the shore or in one the many Put & Take fishponds of the area. Try f.x. the 100.000 m2 lake Grærup Fiskesø.
Worth a visit
 Many artists and craftsmen reside in the area around Blåvand and Oksbøl, and many of their workshops are open for visitors.
At the sweet manufacturer 'Vejers Dropskogeri' you can follow the manufacturing of sweets and acid drops (7 km).
The amber museum Ravmuseet in Oksbøl informs of culture history, the manufacturing of ornaments and handicraft (11 km).
Experience the vivid holiday resorts Henne Strand (14 km) and Blåvand (20 km), which both offer a number of leisure activities, sights, shopping possibilities and restaurants.
From the 39 m high lighthouse, which was built in 1900, you have an amazing view of the North Sea, the bay Ho Bugt, Blåvand and the surrounding area. Many concrete bunkers from World War 2 still lie around the lighthouse.
Excursion spots
The nature centre 'Blåvand Naturcenter' informs about the nature as well as the vegetation and wildlife of the west coast.
The regional museum 'Blåvand Egnsmuseum' illustrates the history of the district - from the antiquity and towards the year 1900 - with i.a. prehistoric finds and local handicraft.
Visit the town Esbjerg with the art museum, the music house, the galleries and the famous sculpture by the sea 'Mennesket ved Havet' (the man at the sea). From Esbjerg you can sail to the island Fanø in app. 10 min. The old, idyllic urban environment with it's characteristic, thatched roofs, the scenic nature and the exceptional bathing beaches make Fanø an excursion spot worth visiting.
Play viking for a day at Ribe VikingeCenter, and meet f.x. the blacksmiths, bow makers, weavers and cooks of the viking age, and see their families and homes (62 km).
LEGOLAND is build out of 50 million toy bricks. The park offers a number of opportunities for family activities (77 km).
