Årgab is a popular holiday area between the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord and the North Sea.
 Årgab is situated directly south of the town Hvide Sande on the bar Holmsland Klit. On this place the bare is very narrow, and that means that all holiday houses lie very close to the beach.
It is very popular to surf here, and therefore you will find a surf centre with surf school at the inlet. Årgab also contains a water world, tennis courts, minigolf course, a Put & Take fishpond and a grocer.
The vivid and cosy town Hvide Sande, which lies about 5 km from Årgab, offers museums, fishing harbour, good shopping possibilities and more restaurants.
Beach
At Årgab you will find a fine sandy beach with Blue Flag and high dunes. You are not allowed to bring your car to the beach. Beach volley is a popular activity on the beach. The inlet Ringkøbing Fjord also offers bathing beaches, and some prefer these beaches, as the water is calmer than that of the North Sea.
Nature
A slightly hilly dune and nature area with various trees and bushes characterizes the area around Årgab. The sea on one side and the inlet on the other surround Årgab.
Activities
The inlet Ringkøbing Fjord is one of the most famous surf areas in northern Europe as the conditions are ideal. The large shallow areas and the safe surroundings make it both easy and fun to learn to surf here.
The angler has good possibilities in the sea, in the inlet and in the Put & Take fishpond at Årgab. Furthermore, deep-sea fishery is arranged from Hvide Sande.
The area has an extensive network of nature and bicycle paths, and lovely nature experiences await you along the paths.
Worth a visit
On a hill, immediately before Hvide Sande, you can see one of the old navigation marks, which used to inform sailors of their position.
From the 38 metres high lighthouse in Nr. Lyngvig, which is situated between Hvide Sande and Søndervig, you have a fantastic view of the water and the landscape.
The town Hvide Sande, situated in the middle of the bar Holmsland Klit, is the 5th. largest fishing harbour in Denmark. The town offers a mixture of vivid activity and quiet charm.
'Fiskernes Hus' in Hvide Sande is a contemporary museum that informs of the story of the fish - all the way from the North Sea to the consumer.
Furthermore, fish auctions for tourists are arranged in Hvide Sande.
Excursion spots
The preserved bird sanctuary Tipperne at the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord is a bird Mekka - thousands of migratory birds can be observed here.
The red tiled roofs and old cobbled streets characterize the old, pretty provincial town, Ringkøbing. The town is definitely worth a visit.
LEGOLAND, app. 100 km from Årgab, is build out of 50 million toy bricks. The park offers a number of opportunities for family activities.
In Givskud you can visit a combined lion park and zoo. Meet with more than 1,000 animals from the whole world on the 60 hectares large area.
