The idyllic holiday destination Løjt is situated on the hilly peninsular Løjt Land.
 The holiday area is situated close to the inlet 'Aabenraa Fjord' and offers numerous activities for the whole family. It is possible to buy groceries within a radius of 3 km, and close to the holiday area a small ferry sails you to the island Barsø, where a martial chief with the name 'Bars' ravaged during the viking age.
The area is characterized by a beautiful, varying nature, pure beaches and the town Aabenraa, which offers many shops, restaurants, leisure activities and sights (10 km).
Beach
The beaches of the area are very suitable for children, as the water is calm and shallow. Only a few hundred metres from the holiday area you will find a beach with the Blue Flag.
The shores of the inlet 'Aabenraa Fjord' offers many idyllic bays and island, and you will easily be able to find an undisturbed place to relax.
Nature
South Jutland is very rich in forests. The large beech forests grow along the eastern coast and inland you will find many pine tree plantations.
The nature of Løjt Land differs from the rest of the South Jutland landscape, as the nature is more undulating.
The typical nature of South Jutland is manifested in the varying landscape around the lake 'Hostrup Sø' (19 km). Here you will find small forest with oaks, willows and birches. To the north and the south, marshes and small lakes surround the lake, and towards east you will find the preserved areas 'Bjergskov' and 'Sønder Hostrup Overdrev'.
The point 'Varnæs Hoved' is a preserved and hilly area, which is characterized by fields, small marshes, forests and a lake (27 km).
Activities
The holiday area offers more leisure activities like i.a. a swimming baths, basketball courts and a golf course.
During the summer, a number of events take place in South Jutland. You can experience town fairs, riding at the ring, cattle show and markets. Lovely nature experiences await you along the marked walking and bicycle paths of the area.
Go on a trip with the historic railway (between Aabenraa and Rødekro) or sail with the paddle steamer from Haderslev or Aabenraa.
Anglers can fish in the inlet 'Aabenraa Fjord', onboard a fishing vessel, which sails out from Aabenraa as well as in the lakes and Put & Take fishponds of the area.
Worth a visit
Visit the island Barsø, where the old gravel roads and the farms have been preserved. Here everything appears more old-fashioned than on the peninsular Løjt Land. Enjoy the beautiful view from the many hills over the fields, the many farms, the tongue 'Sønderballe Hoved', the bay 'Genner Bugt' and Løjt land.
The area is rich in relics. One of Denmark's best preserved grave mounds 'Myrpold' is scenically situated opposite Skarrev (9 km), and from here you can enjoy the magnificent view towards Als and Funen. When the burial chamber was discovered, grave gifts and 10 skeletons were found inside. A couple of kilometres east of here, the long barrow 'Tvekløft' is situated.
Visit Aabenraa, which offers a cosy harbour, a beach, a lovely pedestrian street with squares, an old part of town as well as the castle 'Aabenraa Slot', which is surrounded by water and trees (10 km).
Excursion spots
The animal park 'Haderslev Dyrehave' is a 100 hectares large scenic and undulating area with forest, open grass areas and meadows. About 100 fallow deer live in this park, which is situated close to Haderslev (23 km).
'Sommerland Syd' in Tinglev is the largest amusement park in South Jutland. Here you will find action, speed and excitement for both children and adults (29 km).
In the area, surrounding Løjt, you will find many interesting castles, like i.a. 'Aabenraa Slot', which is surrounded by water, and 'Gram Slot', which contains a museum for nature history and geology (42 km).
Visit Sønderborg with the scenic waterfront, the historic buildings, the good shopping possibilities and the castle, where you experience collections from the Middle Ages and up till today.
LEGOLAND is build out of 50 million toy bricks. More than 50 activities provide you with speed, excitement and experiences! 'The funniest playground for the whole family' (105 km).
