The holiday area of Kollund is a cosy family area in historic and scenic surroundings.
 Kollund is a wooded area, situated right by the inlet 'Flensborg Fjord' and only a few kilometres from the German border. From more houses in the area you can enjoy the view of the inlet and the German coastline. This quiet and scenic area is an ideal holiday destination if you wish to enjoy nature, have cultural experiences or visit Germany. Kollund lies right between Flensborg and Gråsten, with about 12 km to each town. It is possible to buy groceries as well as dine a few places in the area.
Beach
The bathing beach 'Kollund Strand' consists of both sand and stones. The water is deep and the trees grow almost all the way down to the waters edge.
Nature
 Kollund is characterized by lovely and pure nature with inlet, fields, forests and beach. Furthermore, you will find a rich animal life with more rare and preserved species in the district.
The island 'Store Okseø' is situated about 500 metres offshore from the shore, close to Kollund. The ferry sails daily from Sønderhav to the island, where you will find a walking path, which leads you all around the island.
The forests 'Kruså Skovene', which consist of the two forests 'Åbjerg Skov' and 'Kruså Mølleskov', are situated in the border district, and in these recreational surroundings you will find a number of walking paths and a bbq place.
Activities
Golf players can try out more courses in the area, like i.a. the course of 'Benniksgaard Golf Klub' in Gråsten, 14 km from Kollund.
Anglers will find good opportunities all along the shores by Kollund.
You can experience the lovely nature along the many waling and bicycle paths of the area and the forests. The path 'Gendarmstien' leads from Padborg and up through this area, past forest, beaches and green recreational area. You can both walk and drive on bicycle on this path.
Events with riding at the ring are arranged every summer in this region - an experience you cannot miss.
Worth a visit
 Visit i.a. the German market town Flensborg with the cosy pedestrian street, the harbour environment, the many restaurants and the good shopping possibilities (12 km).
Gråsten is a small and cosy town, which is situated right by the water. The town offers a charming town environment as well as the castle 'Gråsten Slot' and its palace garden, which are surrounded by a scenic nature with forest and a lake. The profusely decorated castle church and the palace garden are open to the public (14 km).
Excursion spots
'Sommerland Syd' in Tinglev is the largest amusement park in South Jutland. Here you will find action, speed and excitement for both children and adults (18 km).
'Cathrinesminde Teglværksmuseum' by Broager is a well-preserved industrial plant from the end of the 19th century. Today, the former brickfield function as a museum (20 km).
The museum of the camp 'Frøslevlejren' partially appears as it did in the year 1945 and displays an exhibition about the story of the camp (20 km).
Visit Sønderborg with the cosy cafés and restaurants, the vivid nightlife, the many cultural offers, the leisure activities and the beautiful marina (30 km). The castle 'Sønderborg Slot' has been restored according to the Baroque and contains a museum, which informs of the South Jutland history.
The mill 'Dybbøl Mølle' (originally from the year 1744) by Sønderborg was formerly situated in the middle of a military area and today it function as a museum with pictures and memorials from the battlefield.
