Hvidbjerg is a popular holiday destination in scenic surroundings by the inlet 'Vejle Fjord'.
 Hvidbjerg is situated on the southern shore of the inlet 'Vejle Fjord', 9 km north of Fredericia and 19 km south of Vejle. During the summer period, Hvidbjerg is a vivid area, partly because of the good beach with the largest sand dune of the east coast and partly because of the many holiday houses. From more of the holiday houses in the area you can enjoy the view of Vejle Fjord and in clear weather it is even possible to see all the way to the island Æbleø. Hvidbjerg offers good shopping possibilities.
Beach
The sandy beach of Hvidbjerg has calm water and Blue Flag, and therefore it is very suitable for children.
The beach is divided up into 'Hvidbjerg Klit' (in the northern part) and 'Fladstranden' (in the southern part). By 'Hvidbjerg Klit' you can experience the nearly 30 metres high and preserved sand dune, which is the only easterly sand dune in Jutland. From the top of the dune you will have a great view of the cape 'Trelde Næs' and the uttermost part of the inlet 'Vejle Fjord'.
By the cape 'Trelde Næs', about 5 km from Hvidbjerg, you will find another lovely bathing beach with Blue Flag.
Nature
Just south of Hvidbjerg, the peninsular/cape 'Trelde Næs' offers a lovely sandy beach, fields, meadows and beautiful forest areas with a rich animal life. The lighthouse is situated at the most outlying point of the peninsular and surrounded by the forest 'Troldeskoven' (a wood of gnarled trees), a network of path systems as well as many viewpoints, from which you can enjoy the view of Vejle Fjord. The landscape along the shores of Vejle Fjord belongs among the most scenic in Denmark, i.a. because of the lushness and the many levels.
Activities
Anglers will find good fishing opportunities from the shores, in the inlet, in the streams and Put & Take fishponds of the area.
A number of good golf courses are available in the area. Try f.x. the course of 'Vejle Golf Club', which is situated in the scenic forest 'Munkebjergskove'.
Vejle Fjord is suitable for every kind of watersport, like i.a. sailing and windsurfing. Many lovely nature experiences await you along the many walking and bicycle routes of the area.
Worth a visit
The 350 years old fortress town Fredericia is scenically situated by the Little Belt and surrounded by the best preserved ramparts in Northern Europe. Fredericia also offers Denmark's largest playground 'Madsby Legepark' (9 km)
The preserved watermill 'Børkop Vandmølle' is idyllically situated in scenic surroundings and famous for it's gourmet restaurant. The watermill is still operating a few hours a week, and freshly milled flour and grain are sold on the spot. A museum of local history, which exhibits agricultural tools and craftsmen's tools from old times, is also located here.
A couple of hundred metres from the watermill you will find 'Solstenen' (the sun rock), which is a historic proof of our ancestors sun worship.
Excursion spots
Vejle is a beautiful and cosy commercial town with many interesting shops, good restaurants and cultural offers. The landmark of Vejle is a white windmill from the year 1846 (19 km).
'Jellingestenene' are two large runic stones with inscriptions from the viking age, and are regarded as the 'birth certificate' of Denmark (30 km).
In Givskud you can visit a combined lion park and zoo. Meet with more than 1,000 animals from the whole world on the 60 hectares large area (38 km).
LEGOLAND is build out of 50 million toy bricks. More than 50 activities provide you with speed, excitement and experiences! A funny playground for the whole family (45 km).
The girl 'Egtvedpigen' was found in the town Egtved in 1921 and is one of the best preserved finds from the bronze age. A museum in Egtved informs of the rare find and shows copies of the girl's coffin and her garments (46 km).
