Flovt is situated close to a good bathing beach on the eastern coast of Jutland and about 15 km from Haderslev.
 The holiday area is situated only a few hundred metres from the lovely beach of Flovt. It is possible to buy groceries within a radius of 5 km from Flovt. When you spend your vacation close to the old commercial town Haderslev, you have rich shopping and sightseeing opportunities. In this area you can play golf, fish, walk, visit an interesting museum or merely relax.
Beach
The beach of Flovt is suitable for children because of the shallow water and the sandy bottom. The sandy beach also has dunes and Blue Flag.
The Little Belt offers good conditions for windsurfing and other water activities.
Nature
The nature behind the shore is very varying. The paths and routes of the area invite walks as well as bicycle and riding trips.
'Kelstrup Plantage' is a lovely forest with steep slopes, deep gorges and many wide tablelands. Here you can also experience grave mounds from the bronze age, the stone age and the iron age (13 km).
The valley 'Haderslev Tunneldal' stretches over more than 25 km from the place, where the inlet 'Haderslev Fjord' flows into the Little Belt and all the way to Vojens (15 km). The beautiful forest 'Pamhuse Skov' and the animal park 'Dyrehaven' with i.a. red deer are situated in the valley. Here you can enjoy the nature along the 4 marked walking routes as well as a number of small paths.
Activities
Golf players can try out some of the many courses in South Jutland, and the course of 'Haderslev Golfklub' is very recommendable (18 km).
Anglers can fish from the shores or in the Put & Take fishponds of the area. Furthermore you can go deep-sea fishing onboard a fishing vessel, which sails out from Aabenraa (15 km) or Haderslev (15 km).
A sail through the 12 km long inlet 'Haderslev Fjord' with the boat 'Helene' is a lovely experience. Sails are arranged from Haderslev during the summer period.
The varying vegetation on the sea floor as well as an old German submarine harbour make the area around Diernæs, about 22 km south of Flovt, an interesting place for divers.
During the summer you can also participate in some of the many town fairs in South Jutland and observe how the old sport riding at the ring is being performed.
Worth a visit
A 7 minutes ferry trip brings you from Årøsund (7 km) to the small island Årø, which offers a rich animal life as well as an idyllic village environment with small and twisting alleys and houses with thatched roofs.
Visit the old commercial town Haderslev. Here you will find a cosy pedestrian street, many green recreational areas, an old part of town with gently restored houses, more interesting museums and collections as well as the beautiful cathedral (15 km).
Innumerable relics can be observed in this area. One of Denmark's best preserved grave mounds 'Myrpold' is scenically situated opposite Skarrev on Løjt Land (31 km), from which you can enjoy the magnificent view of the inlet towards Als and Funen. When the burial chamber of the grave mound was opened, grave presents and 10 skeletons were found here.
A couple of km east of here the long barrow Tvekløft is situated.
Excursion spots
Aabenraa offers a harbour, a beach, a lovely pedestrian street with squares, an old part of town as well as the castle 'Aabenraa Slot', which is surrounded by water and trees (35 km).
Go exploring in 'Planetarium Orion' in Rødding and learn more about how the vikings made use of the sky (43 km).
'Sommerland Syd' in Tinglev is the largest amusement park in South Jutland. Here you will find action, speed and excitement for both children and adults (57 km).
The mill 'Dybbøl Mølle' (originally from the year 1744) by Sønderborg was formerly situated in the middle of a military area and today it function as a small museum with pictures and memorials from the battlefield (64 km).
LEGOLAND is build out of 50 million toy bricks. More than 50 activities provide you with speed, excitement and experiences! 'The funniest playground for the whole family' offers knights in armaments, pirates, tough cowboys, wild Indians and much more (86 km).
