St. Havelse Strand offers lovely nature experiences directly by the lovely inlet 'Roskilde Fjord' on Sealand.
 Meadows, wetlands, inlet, tongues, beach, bays, lakes and streams characterize the holiday area. The holiday house area is situated only a few metres from the inlet 'Roskilde Fjord' and only 3 km from 'Arresø' - Denmark's largest lake. Here you will find all you could wish for. Look forward to the clean beaches of the Kattegat, nature experiences by 'Roskilde Fjord', leisure activities in the fresh air, meetings with local artists as well as visits to interesting museums. It is possible to buy groceries in the area, and the nearest larger town Frederiksværk (7 km) offers good shopping possibilities among other things.
Beach
The holiday house area is situated only a few metres from the inlet, but if you wish to swim in the sea, the beach of Liseleje is recommendable. The lovely beach is situated 12 km from St. Havelse Strand, and it is said to be one of the best beaches of the Kattegat. It has fine sand, dunes and lifeguards during the high season. It is very suitable for children and has the Blue Flag. Windsurfers will find really good conditions here.
If you wish to swim in the inlet 'Roskilde Fjord', you can choose to go the beach 'Marbæk Strandpark' (16 km), which has a sandy bottom and shallow water. It is also possible to play beach volley here.
Nature
Along the lake Arresø you will find good walking and bicycle paths. The route around the lake is 50 km long. It is also possible to go a cosy sail on the lake with the boas MS Frederikke (3 km).
From the marked walking path 'Bakkestien', which offers hills, slopes, forest and beach, you can enjoy a great view of Frederiksværk and 'Roskilde Fjord' (7 km).
'Tibirke Bakker' is a lovely and preserved nature area with heathery hills. From a viewpoint in the area you can enjoy the great view of the lake 'Arresø', the forest 'Grib Skov' and a bite of the inlet 'Roskilde Fjord' (20 km).
With its 5,600 hectares the forest 'Grib Skov' is one of Denmark's largest forests. A number of marked walking and bicycle routes as well as more scenic and historic places are available here (34 km). By Grib Skov you will also find the lake 'Esrum Sø', which is scenically surrounded by an untouched landscape with forests and meadows. Here you can swim, sail and study the birds in the bird sanctuary.
Activities
Rent a bicycle in Frederiksværk (7 km) and take a walk or a bicycle ride on the path 'Fjordstien' along the inlet 'Roskilde Fjord'. 'Fjordstien' leads from Hundested through Frederiksværk, Frederikssund and Jyllinge to Roskilde, from where you can move on to Holbæk and Rørvig.
Anglers will find good fishing spots all along the North Sealand shore, and about 5 km from the holiday house area, the Put & Take fishpond 'Hagelsegård Ørredfiskeri' is available. The inlet `Roskilde Fjord¿ is also suitable for angling, and the spot just north of the bridge 'Kronprins Frederiks Bro' is recommendable (14 km).
Golf players can visit the course of 'Asserbo Golfklub' - one of the oldest and best golf courses in Denmark, which is situated in a lovely nature area by the hill 'Arrenakke Bakke' (9 km).
Go on a canoe tour on the canal, which connects 'Roskilde Fjord' with the island Arresø. Canoes can be rented in the area.
Worth a visit
Close to the holiday house area you will find a number of galleries, studios and handicraft workshops, where you can admire paintings, glassware and artistically metal work.
Just 6 km from St. Havelse Strand you will find the magnificent, culture-historical castle 'Arresødal Slot' in the scenic forest of the same name. However, the castle can only be observed from the outside.
Visit Frederiksværk with its many shops, restaurants and museums (7 km). The town museum 'Bymuseet', which relates to the local history, is recommendable. The castle ruin 'Dronningholm Slotsruin' is also worth a visit. Here you can admire the once forceful castle installations with a moat and a drawbridge.
The castle ruin 'Asserbo Slotsruin' (13 km) was build by monks in the 12th. century.
Excursion spots
With its towers and spires the castle 'Frederiksborg Slot' looks like something out of a fairy-tale (19 km). The castle 'Fredensborg Slot' is the summer residence of the Danish Queen (26 km).
The amusement park 'Nordsjællands Sommerpark' is a cornucopia of amusements and activities. It offers f.x. a jungle path and a water world (32 km).
Louisiana in Humlebæk is a museum of modern art. The unique museum buildings and the beautiful old park create interesting settings for the art (36 km).
The 'Karen Blixen Museum' at Rungstedlund has been established with gallery, exhibitions, the private living rooms of Karen Blixen, a slide department, a library and a café (37 km).
Experience the unique atmosphere of the old fishing village Gilleleje with the old quarter, the small fishing houses and the cosy, evocative harbour (41 km).
Visit the capital Copenhagen with the vivid culture life, museums, music, theatres, galleries, the pedestrian street 'Strøget' and the many sights (53 km).
