Skibby is a small commercial town between the inlets 'Roskilde Fjord' and 'Isefjord'.
 The holiday house area is situated close to the small town Skibby (13 km) on the peninsular Hornsherred, more precisely in the lower part, which is called Bramsnæs. Agriculture, small villages and a couple of small fishing villages characterize this area. It is possible to buy groceries within a radius of 4 km from the holiday area. Natural and bathing experiences as well as culture and sights await you here. The nearest larger towns are Holbæk (22 km) and Roskilde (32 km), which both offer many restaurants, good shopping possibilities and cultural offers.
Beach
The nearest bathing beach is situated only a few metres from the holiday area.
The beach 'Ejby Strand' is a stony beach with bathing jetty, 10 km from Skibby.
The beach of Herslev (23 km) has course sand and is very suitable for children because of its shallow water.
Nature
The coast of the inlet 'Isefjord' is very steep, whereas the coast by the inlet 'Roskilde Fjord' is level and characterized by salt meadows and fields.
The preserved river valley 'Ejby Ådal' (10 km) is a deep gorge, which is situated just north of the harbour of Ejby. The bank of the gorge is terraced, and where the stream mouths into 'Isefjord', the landscape is characterized by meadows and marshes. 'Ejby Ådal' has an interesting vegetation with more than 600 different, registered plants.
The inlet 'Roskilde Fjord' has been laid out as a game preserve. A large number of water birds breed on the app. 30 small islands and tongues of the inlet.
Activities
The golf course of 'Holbæk Golfklub' is situated about 18 km from the holiday area and because of its unique location, directly on the peninsular 'Kirsebærholmen', it is a very special experience to play here. Enjoy the view of the island 'Holbæk Fjord' from here. You will find the course of 'Roskilde Golf Klub' 24 km from the holiday area. Roskilde also offers a bowing alley (31 km).
Anglers will find good opportunities for a haul along the shores. It is possible to catch both sea trout and garfish in the bay 'Bramsnæs Bugt'.
Pamper yourselves in the Turkish bath in Holbæk (22 km), which also offers a steam bath, sauna and massage among other things.
Worth a visit
At 'Bramsnæs Museum' in the town Kirke Hyllinge the past becomes an experience. Here you can study effects, which have been used by the people of Bramsnæs - from the antiquity and up till today (5 km).
If you wish to pamper yourselves, you ought to dine at the inn 'Langtved Færgekro'. The old half-timbered inn is famous for its lovely location and not least its good cuisine (11 km).
In the village Skibby (13 km) you will find the castle 'Selsø Slot', which contains a museum and one of Denmark's most distinguished baronial halls. Enjoy the magnificent stucco ceiling and the 2 large Versailles mirrors.
A number of passage graves, which tells about the settlements of prehistoric Denmark, are available in Bramsnæs. On the northern banks of the river valley 'Ejby Ådal' you will also find a monolith (a monument from the viking age), which is called Troldbykællingen.
Excursion spots
In Holbæk you can shop, experience the atmosphere of the cosy marina and visit a museum, which consists of 13 historical buildings and offers music and theatre in the museum yard (22 km). Visit the village Nyvang, where the past is vitalized. Experience the old forge from 1869 or try the speciality from the kitchen at the smallholding 'Husmandsstedet'.
At the viking museum 'Vikingemuseet' in Roskilde you can experience ships from the viking age, copies of viking ships as well as other Scandinavian commercial boats. The museum also has it's own island and harbour (32 km).
The castle 'Dragsholm Slot' in Hørve is Denmark's oldest castle. The primeval fortress from the early mediaeval times has a dungeon and offers many ghost stories. A scenic palace garden belongs to the castle (44 km).
The amusement park 'Nordsjællands Sommerpark' in Græsted is a cornucopia of amusements and activities for both children and adults. Among other things it offers a jungle path and a water world (57 km).
