In Skaverup you will find peace and quiet as well as lovely and unspoiled nature with forest and inlet.
 The cosy village Skaverup is situated on South Sealand, right by the inlet 'Avnø Fjord' and the waters 'Smålandsfarvandet', in a quiet and cosy area, just north of the 15 km long and partly preserved tongue 'Knudshoved' and the point 'Knudshoved Odde'.
It is possible to buy groceries in town. The nearest larger town is Vordingborg, which is situated 10 km from Skaverup.
Beach
The beach by the inlet 'Avnø Fjord' by Skaverup is a partly sandy, partly stony beach, which is very suitable for coastal fishing.
Nature
 The forest 'Oreby Skov' is situated a couple of km south of Skaverup. You will also come across great views in this forest.
The 15 km long tongue of land 'Knudshoved Odde' sticks out in the waters 'Smålandsfarvandet' and separates the inlet 'Avnø Fjord' from the rest of the waters. The bar is only accessible on foot or bicycle. On the bare you will find the forest 'Knudsskov' with water towards both north and south.
Activities
Anglers will find good opportunities all along the shores as well as in the Put & Take fishponds of the area.
If you wish to play golf, the nearby courses of the clubs 'Sydsjællands Golfklub' by Næstved and 'Næstved Ny Golfklub' (both 23 km), 'Møn Golfklub' by Stege (37 km) and 'Falster Golf Klub' by Eskildstrup (38 km) are available.
Worth a visit
Visit the scenically situated marked town Vordingborg with the many sights and offers. The landmark of the town is the tower 'Gåsetårnet', the best preserved mediaeval tower in Scandinavia, build by Valdemar Atterdag in the year 1365. 'Sydsjællandsk Museum' contains rich collections from the antiquity and up till today. The historical, botanical garden 'Historisk Botanisk Have' is interesting divided into i.a. a renaissance garden and a herb garden. The church of Vordingborg has a very beautiful baroque altarpiece and a sumptuous choir screen.
Excursion spots
Bonbonland in Holme-Olstrup offers more than 70 activities for the whole family, i.a. 'Vildsvinet' - Denmark's largest roller coaster, a rafting course, carousels, circus, children¿s theatre, a pirate lake and much more (31 km).
'Krokodille Zoo' in Eskilstrup on Falster has Europe's largest collection of different crocodile species. Furthermore, you can experience tortoises, monitors and an anaconda here (38 km)
'Middelaldercentret' is an open-air museum by Sundby, where an authentic village from the 12th. century with houses, workshops, ships, vessels and a catapult has been created (49 km).
With its high chalk cliffs and the old beech forest 'Møns Klint' is one of the most famous and visited nature areas in Denmark. Enjoy the amazing sight both from the beach and from the cliff (57 km).
In 'Knuthenborg Safaripark' by Maribo the wild animals move around in their natural surroundings - right around your car or bus (69 km).
