The quiet, cosy and scenic holiday area on the tongue of land 'Sjællands Odde' is surrounded by water on 3 sides.
 The inlet 'Isefjord', the Kattegat and the bay 'Sejerøbugt' surround Sjællands Odde and consequently the area exudes cosiness and fishing atmosphere. Experience the fishing vessels, the smokehouse, the boatyard, the fish sale and the anglers. The smokehouse is designed by the world-famous architect Arne Jacobsen.
At the tongue you will find the village Yderby - a small town with a few houses and a windmill, Odden Havneby with the small fishing harbour as well as Yderby Lyng, where it is possible to buy groceries.
Beach
The southern side of the tongue 'Odden' generally offers good and sandy beaches. The beaches of the northern side of the tongue are mainly stony, but a few sandy beaches are available.
Nature
 Fields, steep slopes, hilly moor landscapes and views of the water, characterize the landscape of the tongue 'Sjællands Odde'.
The forest 'Sonnerup Skov' by Lumsås has a shoreline of 3 km and covers an area of 290 hectares. A number of marked walking paths are available here.
The sand drift plantation 'Rørvig Sandflugtsplantage' contains a beautiful, colourful and varying area with inland dunes and a rich bird life.
Activities
Kilometres of walking and bicycle routes invite you to experience the tongue of land Sjællands Odde on foot or bicycle.
The area is very popular among anglers, as it is possible to fish along the varying shores, which offer a number of good fishing spots, in the canals of the inlet 'Lammefjord' or on the sea, onboard a fishing vessel, which sails out to the reef 'Sjællands Odde Rev' from Havneby.
'Gniben' is the uttermost point of the tongue, and here divers will find good conditions.
Worth a visit
 A number of museums, which illustrate the interesting history of civilization in the area Odsherred, are available in the area. Visit f.x. the museums of Fårevejle Kirkeby, Høve, Nykøbing Sjælland and Stenstrup.
Visit the mill 'Lumsås Mølle', which is a working mill museum, where the flour is still milled in the old-fashion way. Experience the impressive constructions, the beautiful interior and buy flour (11 km).
The passage grave by Højby is one of the best preserved graves in the country. The passage grave has 2 chambers, an external diameter of 26 metres and functioned as burial chamber for 98 people. The exhibition from the excavation can be seen on the nearby 'Stenstrup Museum' (15 km).
Excursion spots
Ferries sail daily from Havnebyen on 'Sjællands Odde' to both Ebeltoft and Århus. Both towns offer more sights, cosy town environments, restaurants and interesting shops.
Nykøbing Sjælland is a cosy marked town with a pedestrian street, various shops and pavement cafés and good, cultural offers (20 km).
The amusement park 'Sommerland Sjælland' by Nykøbing offers more than 70 activities, like a cosy canoe trip, a wild ride in the roller coaster or a visit to Sealand's largest water world (20 km).
In the zoo 'Odsherreds Zoo Dyrepark' by Asnæs you can experience 600 animals, divided on 100 species (34 km).
Visit the capital Copenhagen with the vivid culture life, museums, music, theatres, galleries, the pedestrian street 'Strøget' and sights like the Tivoli, a planetarium, the adventure centre 'Eksperimentarium', the art museum 'Carlsberg Glyptotek', the castle 'Rosenborg Slot' with the crown jewels, København Zoo and much more (100 km).
