On the westernmost point of Sealand you will find a magnificent and quite unique nature area - the peninsular Røsnæs.
 Røsnæs is situated directly by the bay 'Sejerøbugt', and it is said to be the driest and most sunny area of Denmark. The peninsular is 15 km long and offers a breathtaking nature with forest, hills, fields, a lake, meadows and marshes. Because of the undulating landscape, you can enjoy a scenic view of the Great Belt more places on Røsnæs.
Farthest towards the west you will find the 15 m high lighthouse 'Røsnæs Fyr', which was build in 1844. The area is idea for nature lovers, bird enthusiasts as well as anglers.
It is possible to buy groceries in the area. The nearest larger town is Kalundborg, which is situated 15 km from Røsnæs.
Beach
The beach of Røsnæs is partly stony, partly sandy beach. The water level varies a lot in conjunction with high and low tide. Steep slopes lead down to the beach. Don't miss the magnificent sunset over the Great Belt from Røsnæs.
By the cove 'Saltbæk Vig', 15 km towards east, you will find a lovely and sandy bathing beach.
Nature
 Røsnæs is a great and undulating nature area with forest, green hills, fields, a lake, marshes as well as many small paths and viewpoints. The peninsular is one of the few places in Denmark, where you can hear the croaks of the preserved fire-bellied toad. Furthermore, small lizards inhabits this peninsular.
The forest 'Baunebjerg Skov' is probably the most beautiful forest on the tip of Røsnæs.
In the forest 'Skanseskoven' you will find a rich bird life as well as two concrete foundations from World War 2, and opposite the forest you can see seals in the water, if you are in luck.
A number of marked walking routes, which lead you through the forests, are available on Røsnæs.
From the viewpoint 'Vågehøj', 55 metres above sea level, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the peninsular, the bay 'Sejerøbugt', Funen, the island Samsø, Mols and The Great Belt Bridge.
Activities
A few km from the holiday house area of Røsnæs, you will find the challenging 18-hole golf course of 'Kalundborg Golfklub'.
Anglers will find really good fishing possibilities along the shores of the peninsular. Furthermore, deep-sea fishing trips onboard a fishing vessel are arranged from the harbour of Røsnæs.
The varying and unique nature of the peninsular invites walks along the marked paths.
Worth a visit
 In excess of the nature, the Røsnæs peninsular offers a number of galleries and workshops.
Visit the vivid commercial town Kalundborg with the interesting harbour environment, the quite unique mediaeval quarter with narrow streets and well-preserved, half-timbered houses, Denmark's only church with 5 towers, the many exhibitions, the cosy town centre as well as 'Kalundborg Museum', where viking finds from Tissø are displayed (15 km).
Excursion spots
At the eastern shore of Tissø no less than 7 manor houses with beautiful avenues, surrounded by fields and forests, are situated - i.a. the 3 mediaeval houses 'Søbygård', 'Kattrup' and 'Selchausdal' (36 km).
'Trelleborg' by Slagelse is a 1,000-year-old viking castle. A museum on the spot exhibits finds from excavations (tools, weapons, clothes etc.) as well as reconstructions (50 km).
The amusement park 'Sommerland Sjælland' offers more than 60 activities for the whole family, like a cosy canoe trip, a wild ride in the roller coaster or a visit to the largest water world in Sealand (70 km).
Visit the capital Copenhagen with the vivid culture life, museums, music, theatres, galleries, the pedestrian street 'Strøget' and sights like the Tivoli, a planetarium, the adventure centre 'Eksperimentarium', the art museum 'Carlsberg Glyptotek', the castle 'Rosenborg Slot' with the crown jewels, København Zoo and much more (105 km).
