Jungshoved in the bay 'Fakse Bugt' is situated in lovely nature surroundings, slightly isolated, but still central.
 In this holiday area you can see the ruins of an old manor house, which, according to the legend, was build by the pirate Joffne. The manor house was named after Joffne and called 'Joffneshoved', which later became Jungshoved. But besides the pirate story, the area also offers good swimming possibilities, leisure activities in the scenic nature and interesting sights.
In spite of the calm and slightly isolated location of the holiday house area, it is possible to buy groceries within a radius of 3 km from Jungshoved. The nearest larger town is Vordingborg (24 km), which offers shops, restaurants and sights.
Beach
The holiday house area is situated only a few hundred metres from a good bathing beach.
On the peninsular Feddet you will find a lovely, wide and white sandy beach with small dunes and clean bathing water (27 km).
Nature
The inlet 'Præstø Fjord' is rich in water birds, and here you can observe various surface-feeding ducks and diving ducks among others.
'Feddet' is a 5 km long peninsular with a very varying nature, which stretches down through the inlet 'Præstø Fjord'. The preserved moor area with dunes and salt meadows also has a rich bird life, which can be observed from a gazebo. Both the inlet 'Præstø Fjord', the small island Maderne as well as Feddet are bird sanctuaries.
With its high chalk cliffs and the old beech forest, which grows all the way out on the cliffs, 'Møns Klint' is one of the most famous and visited nature areas in Denmark. The impressive white chalk cliffs rise from the sea and are an amazing sight both from the beach and from the cliff (45 km).
The cliff 'Stevns Klint' raises more than 40 metres from the coast with its chalk white cliffs. Experience the remarkable cliff from the many viewpoints. 'Flagbanken' is probably the most spectacular spot by 'Stevns Klint'.
Activities
You can go fishing in the inlet 'Præstø Fjord', on the peninsular 'Feddet' or in the Put & Take fishpond 'Vesterled Put & Take Sø' (18 km).
In Roneklint Kajakcenter (6 km) you can rent a canoe and go on an excursion for yourselves from the beach of Roneklint.
Walking and riding tours are arranged on the preserved peninsular 'Feddet' (27 km).
The golf club 'Rønnede Golfklub' (34 km) offers a scenic and challenging 18-hole golf course. A gliding club is also available by Rønnede.
Worth a visit
The church of Jungshoved contains frescos, which are presumed to show the Dance of Death.
Præstø is a charming, old commercial town (13 km). Here you will find a number of shops, good restaurants and cosy cafés. Drop by the pottery 'Rødeled' with the historic atmosphere and experience how a beautiful bowl or a mug is created from a lump of clay.
Visit the commercial town Vordingborg (24 km) with the many sights and leisure activities. The landmark of the town is the tower 'Gåsetårnet', which belongs among Denmark's greatest castle ruins from the Middle Ages.
The geological museum Østsjællands Museum Fakse exhibits more than 500 different types of fossils (32 km).
In the limestone quarry 'Fakse Kalkbrud', which is 45 m deep, you can find your own fossils from f.x. sharks and crocodiles, which lived here millions of years ago.
Excursion spots
Go on a sail on the inlet 'Præstø Fjord' with the tour boat Fjordkaperen, which sails from Præstø to the harbour 'Fed Havn' on Feddet.
The palace garden 'Gisselfeld Slotspark' by Bråby is one of Northern Europe's most scenic gardens with many botanical rarities. The park appears like an English landscape garden (41 km).
Bonbonland in Holme-Olstrup offers more than 70 activities for the whole family, i.a. Vildsvinet - Denmark's largest roller coaster, a rafting course, carousels, circus, children's theatre, a pirate lake and much more (43 km).
In 'Knuthenborg Safaripark' by Maribo the wild animals move around in their natural surroundings - right around your car or bus (83 km).
Visit the capital Copenhagen with the vivid culture life, museums, music, theatres, galleries, the pedestrian street Strøget and sights like the Tivoli, a planetarium, the art museum 'Carlsberg Glyptotek', the castle 'Rosenborg Slot' with the crown jewels, København Zoo and much more (103 km).
