Frilandsmuseet

The open-air museum 'Frilandsmuseet' is situated in a scenic area, close to the lake 'Maribo Søndersø', and consists of i.a. houses, a farm, built round a quadrang, a post mill, a forge and a school. Both the buildings and their inventory provide you with an authentic impression of the Lolland-Falster peasant culture and architectural style around the year 1800. On the spot you will also find a shop, and here you can purchase books, postcards and copies from museums. Furthermore, 'Frilandsmuseet' disposes of a garden with medicinal plants as well as a 10 tons heavy traction engine, which was used for steam ploughing from 1872 to 1929.
